Union Hockey has topped off their greatest season by making the NCAA Hockey Final Four in Tampa! Union College will play Ferris State {who?} on Thursday night with the winner facing the Boston College-Minnesota winner for the college championship next Saturday. Union College has several NHL caliber players including the best goalie in college hockey. A credit to Schenectady and the great college. This is uncharted waters for Union which is having their greatest hockey season in school history. The Dutchmen games are broadcast on the college FM station {can be heard on lower Nott St} and 1160AM WABY.

All the Frozen Four games will be shown on ESPN2. Many future NHL stars have started in this tournament. Great publicity for our Union Dutchmen who are having the best season in their history.

This game is also on ESPN 3, and Union is currently WINNING 1-0, with about 3 minutes left in the first period.

I think you are watching a replay of the Union versus UMass or Michigan St. game to get into the Frozen Four.  The game isn't on until today at 4:30pm.

The puck will drop at 4:30pm on ESPN2. Thank everyone including the Chamber for their strong support for the biggest sporting event for the City of Schenectady since the Little League Championships in the 1950's. Go Union signs are up and down Union Street. The Union College vs. Ferris State winner plays the Boston College/Minnesota winner for the National Championship.

Union lost . They did well the first two parts then fell apart the third.  They should be proud they made it to the final 4.

Alas we can rejoice over the Dutchmen and we can be proud that Schenectady has been recognized internationally once again -- I believe that Union College owes Schenectady a LOT for making the College what it is today ...........But today these oh-so wonderful young men on skates have made us proud -- however they assuredly cursed themselves when they played in Fenway Park..

People have some short memories. There have been Union teams that were just as great, going back to when Ned ran the program. The 70s and 80s had some great hockey seasons with several players going pro.

I was thinking the same thing. Remember too that the college admin at the time was unhappy with the direction the program was headed. Ned wanted to get the program Div. I status and they were totally opposed to the idea. So Ned left and it really dealt a blow to them. Happy they went so far.
