Schenectady teen, 17, suffers gunshot wounds

So common place.

Quite obvious the that the dems have pushed all the crap throughout the city, I mean look , brawls, stabbings and a shooting in only a few days.   Remember the olden days when this was pretty much limited to "the hill".

And now that the dems have been spending all the taxpayers' money on downtown, while ignoring the taxpayers, this is what's happening.

Gee, the bullet struck a house near where there will be an open house tomorrow.   Oh yeah, McC's taxpayer funded "Grand Bus Tour" will NOT be going to the house on Schuyler Street that is advertised in McC's big full page ad in yesterday's paper

SCHENECTADY — Police are investigating a Friday night shooting on Avenue H in which a 17-year-old was wounded.

Police were investigating a report of gunfire around 9:20 p.m. when the teenager showed up at Ellis Hospital with a gunshot wounds to his forearm and body. He was stabilized and taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital for further treatment.

Shots also struck a home at 1627 Schuyler St., but no one inside was injured. Police said no arrests have been made in the case.

Question here........why are all of these 'non-life threatening' injuries being transferred to Albany Med? Can't Ellis handle these calls???

renaissancy indeed!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

AMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center, the only one in the area.  The last time I checked a gun shot wound is a trauma

Thanks. I just didn't consider a person driving themselves to the ER for a gun shot to the arm a trauma!

Ellis can't handle a gunshot wound to the arm, but they can do heart transplants?

what's wrong with that picture?

It doesn't say airlifted, but it does say he was transferred.

A gun shot wound to any part of the body is considered a penetrating trauma.  AMCH has surgeons and specialist on hand 24/7, that is why they are the only Level 1 trauma center in the area.  I am pretty sure that if the patient wasn't brought to Ellis via car SFD Paramedics/MAS would have transported the patient directly to AMCH.  It has nothing to do with security and evrything to do with the most appropriate facilty for care.
