Nobody abolished abortion, only late term abortions, if you favor that then you'd be in favor of the murder of babies because too many of the later term abortions are born alive and called babies.
YUP! Women who always voted Republican are now drifting to the Left, due to this one issue. That trend is only increasing.

Jul 1 Texas is working to limit abortions to the first 20 weeks of pregnancy and, in so doing, its legislation meets the approval of a majority of American women. 5 out of 34 abortion mills closed after the Gosnell trial and subsequent health regulation governing abortion clinic standards and practices. The abortion lobby argued that nearly all of Pennsylvania’s abortion clinics would fail, if health regulations were imposed. Didn’t happen.
And today, in Texas, a new legislative effort will begin to ban abortions following 20 weeks of pregnancy. Of course, the same lobbyists in Pennsylvania are arguing that this is the end to free and “effective” abortion in Texas. It is not, of course. The bill allows abortion into the 2nd trimester of pregnancy and makes provisions for a mal-formed fetus.
Understand 60% of American women oppose 2nd trimester abortions, and a surprising 80% oppose late term or 3rd trimester, according to Kirsten Powers, a Democrat analysis who writes for the Daily Beast. The 2nd trimester begins with the 14th week of pregnancy and the 3rd trimester begins with the 27th week of pregnancy.
This editor believes that a total ban on abortion will never happen. The actions taken by the Texas State legislature is the next best thing, and it is something that will stand after legal review. This is where we conservatives need to fight this battle. The all or nothing approach is actually continuing the deaths of 1.4 million unborn infants per year. Through education and legislation, we can cut this slaughter down to a few hundred.

Working this issue on the state level I agree is the best way to go, much can be accomplished.

Impregnated Rape Victims Who Abort Should Be Jailed As Long As Their Rapist (VIDEO)
Quoted Text
Rape is a horrifying crime that traumatizes over 60,000 women each year in America. It is estimated that 5% or more of these women become pregnant by their rapist.
One can only imagine what a woman is going through when she learns that she is now carrying a totally unwanted pregnancy stemming from a traumatic event. Most women exercise their right to choose and get an abortion because they do not wish to go through nine months of additional torture to reward their rapist with a child that he may have custody rights to in an astounding 31 states. That means rapists can continue to stalk, harass, and torture their victims for many years after the initial rape occurred. That is one of many reasons why it is important that rape victims have the choice to end such a pregnancy.
Scottie Nell Hughes is the Director of the Tea Party News Network. And as an extreme conservative, she shares the same twisted views of anti-abortion fanatics. During a July 11th appearance on Viewpoint with John Fugelsang on Current TV, Hughes said that rape victims who end resulting pregnancies should be punished in the same manner as their rapists. In other words, prison. AND, they should serve the same amount of prison time.

The same day Texas Gov. Rick Perry signed a bill that may lead to the closure of most abortion clinics in the state, Republican state legislators introduced a bill that would ban abortions before most women know that they are pregnant.

The very critical 'womens vote' just keeps slipping farther and farther from the GOP. Every day they find a new way to give support to Democrats, that would in other circumstances be strong GOP voters.

Davis filibustered the bill, cable news hosted a total of 92 guests to discuss the bill, only four of whom were women's health experts. Fox News hosted no women's health experts, while CNN and MSNBC hosted two and three, respectively

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) said he will sign an abortion bill passed by the legislature that critics say will close all but one of the state's abortion clinics, WITN reports.
While campaigning for governor last fall, the Raleigh News and Observer notes McCrory said "he would not support any new restrictions on abortions."
(And they believed him! )
