People like Obama, Pelosi and Tonko, who have no respect for the Right to Life and are willing to OPPRESS and DISCRIMINATE AGAINST innocent, defenseless humans in the womb, can't be trusted to have any more respect for our other Human and Constitutional Rights. They can't be trusted to NOT attempt to oppress and discriminate against any other group of humans in our country.
The Right to Life is THE essential and primary Human and Constitutional Right --- all others spring from that. Take it away and every other right is unsafe and meaningless.

Box I am a woman. When I became pregnant with my daughter one of the first questions the clinic asked me was "are you going to continue this pregnancy?"
If the answer is YES then you need to start on a prenatal program for the health of both you and the baby. If the answer is NO then you need to consider an appointment with abortion services as soon as practical. I'm glad that you had a CHOICE. For you the CHOICE was obvious that you wanted to continue the pregnancy... but for many women the CHOICE is also obvious that they do not.
The GOP War on Women would eliminate that choice. It's that simple.

88-92% of all abortions happen during the first trimester, prior to the 13th week of gestation
Medical abortions made up approximately 17.4% of all abortions reported (CDC).
37% of women obtaining abortions identify themselves as Protestant, and 28% identify themselves as Catholic (AGI).
In 2009, 85% of all abortions were performed on unmarried women (CDC).
Among women who obtained abortions in 2009, 40.2% had no prior live births; 46.3% had one or two prior live births, and 13.6% had three or more prior live births (CDC).
At current rates, nearly one-third of American women will have an abortion (AGI).

Finally RP, we have reached a point where you and I can come to some consensus.
Both of us want to see the number of abortions in the USA reduced or eliminated. Both of us want to see abortions used only when medically necessary for the life of the mom. Both of us would want the need for abortions drop to zero.
How can we both work to prevent abortions in the future??? We can both support Planned Parenthood and similar programs that offer free or low cost contraceptives, as well as promote sex education and family planning for those who need it.

According to Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in an interview with Piers Morgan, when asked about the topic of Roe V Wade and Abortion: “Regardless of what my views as a Catholic are, the Constitution says nothing about it… the Constitution, in fact, says nothing at all about the subject.”

Yes, therefore the 10th Amendment says it is a state issue, not federal.

The Supreme Court’s 1973 ruling in Roe v Wade, which held that the right to privacy —which it had earlier found in the Fourteenth Amendment and “in the penumbras of the Bill of Rights”—effectively set the date at which a fetus can survive outside its mother as the point at which states have the power to ban abortions outright.

WASHINGTON — After Republicans lost the presidential election and seats in both the House and the Senate last year, many in the party offered a stern admonishment: if we want to broaden our appeal, steer clear of divisive social and cultural issues.
Yet House Republicans seem eager to reopen the emotional fight over abortion by bringing to the floor on Tuesday a measure that would prohibit the procedure after 22 weeks of pregnancy — the most restrictive abortion bill to come to a vote in either chamber in a decade.
Ya Mean This GOP War On Women??? The bill stands no chance of becoming law, with Democrats in control of the Senate and the White House. Republican leaders acknowledge that its purpose is to satisfy vocal elements of their base who have renewed a push for new restrictions on reproductive rights, even if those issues harmed the party’s reputation with women in 2012.

The 14th Amendment was written after the civil war for the reconstruction of the south, it was written in 1868. It had nothing to do with a abortion. From 1868 until 1973 abortion was a state issue. The Roe v Wade decision was a legal abortion.

EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW"-These words, written above the main entrance to the Supreme Court Building, express the ultimate responsibility of the Supreme Court of the United States. The Court is the highest tribunal in the Nation for all cases and controversies arising under the Constitution or the laws of the United States. As the final arbiter of the law, the Court is charged with ensuring the American people the promise of equal justice under law and, thereby, also functions as guardian and interpreter of the Constitution.

So far the supreme court wins 100% of the time.

The earliest premature birth that survived was at 13 weeks. Nobody is enforcing murder laws for abortions that are performed after 13 weeks. Another abortion of law, even laws based on the abortion of the roe v wade ruling.
