Quite obvious that workers, at the end of their day, are NOT going home to Schenectady and it's quite obvious from this story that the future is that more people will head up the northway to go home at the end of their day. No driving home to Schenectady? Hmmm. Some like a home with large garage, big yards. Some like an older home with character (much like is seen in the Schenectady). Quite obvious that regardless of one's preference in a house, they can get more for their money by avoiding Schenectady, they know they'll have lower taxes and property values that actually increase

Go look at the Rexford Bridge at rush hour. Folks can't get out of the insane tax County fast enough. They have to widen the bridge to handle all the Rexford/Clifton Park people fleeing every night. Metrograft is total failure. Having a theatre is nice but no substitute for booming retail. And yes, it is in Upstate Downtowns like Saratoga, Ithaca and Binghampton.
Now we learn that the DEMS have depleted all City finances. As predicted here when that unbalanced City budget was approved 7-0! Too bad they can't print money. The City should be taken over by a bankruptcy judge. That's the only way taxes and services will finally be slashed.
... Now we learn that the DEMS have depleted all City finances. ....
" N N n n n nuh nuh nuh no no no no NO NO NO, the city has not depleted all of the city's finances. The nayboobs can't read! Read the story, the city has $15 million in emergency funds! The renaissance goes on"
Such will be the reply from the cheerleaders for higher taxes.

Find out how many folks who work at the new Golub office complex live in Schenectady.......especially the city.

What have they got to say about even MORE PROOF, more EVIDENCE (to use DV's chosen word) that people are NOT coming to Schenectady????????????????
Quite embarrased to see that the expectation is that the report expects that even more people will be travelling north on the northway to go to their homes, NOT into Schenectady

MC1 stretch that idea to the school district. Find out how many teachers LIVE or have their children ATTEND the Schenectady City Schools.
Also, districts like Scotia and Nisky should start investigating the addresses of many of the kids in their schools as well. Know many who live in Schenectady yet have a relative in Scotia/Nisky to put down as the 'residence' for school enrollment.
Let's face it, it's not simply the high taxes.....people don't want to live in the City because the schools are sub-par and the violence (both in and outside the schools) is high.
And lets remember how rotterdam's town board member, schenectady school principal, stated, for the record, at a rotterdam town board meeting, that she moved to rotterdam to give her son, 'a better life'........who went to mohonasen.

"They" are looking at maybe widening the northway to accommodate all the people going to Saratoga and points north at the end of the day, while Schenectady is looking to narrow the main road from the highway into the city.
Perhaps McC and his dems figure if they narrow the main road off the highway coming into the city (Erie Blvd). Guess they want to give the appearance that people are coming home into the city at the end of their day.
Or maybe they think that if they create traffic bottlenecks that people will decide to live in the city instead of deal with the traffic bottlenecks at the end of the day. Clearly, as is proven with the northway, people are indeed choosing to deal with the bottleneck traffic in order to go to Saratoga and points north at the end of their work day. After the dems created that mess downtown, making the most major thorughfare into a narrow two lane road, most drivers avoid downtown at all cost. People who might come by way of Central Ave get Balltown Rd, turn onto it, and get to Rte 7 either by Consaul Rd or where it meets Rt 7. Get on to Rt 7, then I-890 and avoid State Stret all together--downtown or not. Virtually all of State St is a two lane road now, except a few intersections. Someone turning left, sorry, you must wait, they think "hey, while you wait, look around at what the city has to offer" Yeah, an opportunity to sit and wait and look at all the vacant houses they are ignoring while hiking the taxes on financially struggling homeonwers in order to build new apartments, opportunity to be approached by the hookers, etc

They are all joining to eat lunch Downtown improving the "street traffic"-lol. Except that Mazzone opened a lunch room there by the private gym so no one has to ever venture outside. No increase in revenues, no street traffic, no nuthin. Like everything else Metrograft foists on the oppressed County taxpayer. They should enlarge Rt 146 to 4 lanes to accommodate the masses fleeing Schenectady County at 4pm.
"Use to live on Craig St. In the 70s when I was a kid and I thought I would visit the old neighborhood. Holy sh*t! What happened to that area? Houses are all burned down, junk cars, nobody speaks English, drug dealers everywhere, hookers, you name it. I thought I was in a foreign country. Where are the cops? The hill was bad in the 70s but now it's something out of Road Warrior. "
Democrap party wants people to see "renaissance" downtown for 100 million in taxpayer dough. The above is reality. The women in the county think it is a renaissance because they believe all that democraps say!
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
I wish I was as oblivious as Hamburg. Easier to go through life as an idiot. It really is especially in Schenectady.
