You folks were quick to suggest or imply that it happened in the city or because of the city -- so that suggests either ignorance or malevolence on the part of you nayboobs  (frankly I think it is a huge dose of both).

The fact is that vandalism of this type happens in communities of ALL sizes -- urban, rural, suburban -- you folks make it sound like Schenectady is the only place with a problem --- yet ignore the empty buildings and crime in Saratoga County.   Furthermore, you folks NEVER do more than complain and criticize.  You do NOT actually do something to improve help improve your community.

So quit your whining -- and get off your backsides and do something positive for a change.

Funny, considering you sit in your basement and just sit there and wait for us to post something so you can go ahead and tells us how bad we are.  The fact is that many of us ARE out doing work, and that's why it takes the time for us to post things, so that when you come here you have all day to think up why we're wrong. You talk out off your a$$ that you're doing things to fix the issues, when all you want to do is create a new park somewhere, while you can't even make sure we can keep the ones that we have looking good, and refuse to take down illegal signs from the locations.  While you sit here and spew your hatred, some of us are actually out and WORKING on the issues.

Let's look at the reasons that we don't bring up the issues in Saratoga County.  First of all (this may surprise you, but is common knowledge, and doesn't even have to be brought up to anyone else...) WE DON'T LIVE IN SARATOGA COUNTY, SO THE ISSUES THAT THEY HAVE ARE THEIR ISSUES, AND NOT OURS.  It's sort of a "What happens in Saratoga County stays in Saratoga County thing... you just wouldn't understand, unless you're on your way with your auntie to get another box of chocolates.  Second, whether crime is an issue in a place like Saratoga Springs doesn't have much affect on those that live in Rotterdam, because they're not going to go for a long drive to the next place that they commit their crimes.  They are among us, and they are affecting us on a daily basis.  We're not saying that Schenectady is the only place that there are issues.  In fact, we're saying the exact opposite, the problem is no longer solely in Schenectady, and it has spread, through crime and vandalism, into Rotterdam, and now Scotia, and we need to see an end to it, and we do our best to help those that are affected by it to rebuild, clean up, and make things better than they were previously.

And just so you know, if you post a reply soon, I won't be around.  I think I'll go and drive past Jumpin' Jacks to see what's going on there, go and do some shopping, then go have a meeting to see what I can do to help strengthen our community.  ...and what are your plans this afternoon?

Do yu people really think that party affiliation has anything to do with crime.....the perp could give a rat's bum about who is in office.

the statements made are ludicrous ....the robber at CVS ....think I'll knock it over because the Dems are in office...

Come on people....crime is crime.....and the perps are not tied to anything but drugs, and the like....

that's their PARTY OF CHOICE.

it's ridiculous how everything pertains to politics.....and the only ones committing the real crimes are the ones in office......

that's my opinion....from someone who thinks like common folk...

Patches....the criminals obviously don't care not only about politics.......they don't care about ANYTHING OR ANYONE! However, these 'criminals' are a result of the years that the liberals have been in power. They have 'invited' the  dumbed down, government dependent sector of society to live here.

First by offering the most lucrative welfare package in the state.
Second, by have the least effective police dept in the state.

It is a dream come true for all the drug addicts/dealers!!!

the city governing system, which happens to be liberal dems as it is now, is an epic failure!!! If they were reps....I'd besaying the same thing.........but they are not!!!

Most of these crimes are drug related. And schenectady's drug problem is MONUMENTAL!! Many are collecting schenectady county welfare illegally since they live in NYC and venture up here just to sell their 'goods'. Do they care what political party is in office? Hell no! But they sure as hell do know that 'they can do it and get away with it"!!!

OK....BB.....BUT who voted these political jerks in all these years......I don't live in Schdy anymore....can't vote and wouldn't vote

for any one...so, my problem is that the voters have put these people in power.....and it's been ongoing for years....just as it is

in Rotterdam.....same o' same o' and nothing changes....we just keep on griping and complaining....there must be other residents

that can make a difference.....Vince Riggi did it...took time.....but he got in and is prepared to stand up for the people.

What do you have here in Rotterdam.....cops cops and more cops.....and a TC that is as corrupt as they come...

these are my thoughts......a resident and past Schdy resident that is glad that I don't take politics seriously....they lie, cheat,

irresponsible. have no morals ,  not empathetic. compassionate to peoples' needs.....and just line their pockets with money they really

don't earn....for their own personal agenda and ego.....I am at an age where I see now what has happened....and thanks to this blog

understand fully....when I post, it's not what I know politically....just what is in my heart.....and if most people did that, what a better

world we would have...and stand up for what is right and just for all......not a perfect world...I know....just thinkin'     LOL

Thanks BB....just sayin'

If the people of Schdy (or Rotterdam) are unhappy with their present legislators, then vote them out!  Is there
qualified opposition to those in office?
If Democrats or Republicans have been consistently reelected in fair elections... What is the complaint???

The solution is at the ballot box... Not whining on this board.

I will translate the above: "You lost the election so shut up. You have no right to freedom of speech or to air your grievances, and soon we will make sure the government tales that away from you after you lose the next election, which makes sense, because the Left IS Nazism."

Box, you would have looked great in a Death's Head cap yelling that at the Jews, in 1933. You would have fit in nice you sunuvabit(h. This proves why the left is dangerous. People like Box don't believe in people speaking out against their government. People like Box want to exterminate free speech AND conservatives.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

In Grahams world, any opposition to his agenda is labeled a Nazi, even when the Real Nazis in the USA are mostly Right
Wing Republican Conservatives!

First, I am too busy with the numerous community and church activities that I am involved in to be sitting around anywhere.  My schedule for this morning, afternoon and evening -- although it is really no one's business but my own --- was filled with a number of hours of volunteer work and a "working dinner meeting" to discuss future business plans.

For the record, it is not my job to take down illegal signs.

Oh -- and for the record I do not sit in the basement like you apparently do -- since you and your thug friends seem fixated on people in basement.  And - I contend that you folks turn a blind-eye to the problems in Saratoga because you hate to admit that your fellow Republicans have not solved all of the problems either.

It's too bad that this had to happen....but it did. And the fact of the matter is.......YES....it did happen in scotia and not the city. However, this is again proof of how the city scum is crossing boarders to the rest of the county.

For years, folks who live in scotia/glenville, believed that the city scum wouldn't cross the bridge........but as soon as walmart opened....they found out differently. Collins park ain't what it use to be either.

So yes........it is indeed the city liberals that have created a dumbed down, entitlement society that is spreading and overflowing into all of the surrounding towns.

Scotia, Rotterdam and Nisky are now experiencing the renaissance!

Totally on point Bumble.

Patches, vote out the current DEM leadership?? Who? Most of Schenectady is collecting section 8 and other gov't benefits gratis from the DEMS... no audits, no checking. Why vote out the gravy train.
Someone must have the miserably low percentage of people who live in Schenectady verses those who vote.

Apathy is at an all time high. This apathy has morphed into people fleeing their City homes into foreclosure, middle class renters leaving for safer areas and Open Houses where no one comes.

We can pretend that it has nothing to do with current leadership...where they have rubber stamped every budget without any questions asked, where pension padding is rampant and where the Metroplex has taken millions taxpaying properties off the tax rolls leaving the homeowners paying triple what they should.

Our current Mayor has set the bar at an all time low collecting his pension along with the mayoral salary...and he did that AFTER he came into office. You can't weed out crooks once they're in power...you can only wait until they leave .......Schenectady is playing the waiting game....but it might be too late!

If you are the opposition party, then offer some viable, intelligent and qualified candidates to change things
in your community...
BUT
If the ruling party is reelected year after year and there is no viable opposition...
The only reasonable conclusion is that the community is happy with the leadership that's in place.

No fire storm please....if you read my blogs....you would understand....I am not politically tied to anyone..

my thoughts are my thoughts.....that's all...I am not in the mood to discuss what is right or wrong with each party..

All I am saying is that this blog represents all the politics in this area.....and it seems to me if the majority is not happy with

either party then do something to improve it with people that may represent the taxpayers better...

that's all.....so all these sermons about what you analyze about my statements is your view just like I give my view...

I will emphasize that I an not politically savey  as most are on this blog....but from personal experience I understand what politics can

do to someone personally and politically because of their own personal agenda....

Just sayin'    as BB would state.
