AND Schenectady has a brand new, million dollar palace on State Street yet blocks away there is a school district without a sex ed class (unless parents consent for their children to attend).

If this was a 3rd world nation and a village had a high teen pregnancy rate, PP would go in and EDUCATE THE CHILDREN GETTING PREGNANT. Yet for some reason in the City of Schenectady, PP seems okay with the sky rocketing numbers and simply allows the uneducated masses to remain as such.

PP needs to be invited into the school system. PP has no power to force the unwilling to actually care about
their own kids.

So, here's a sex ed mega organization (PP) ignoring that hundreds of Schenectady youth are getting pregnant and do what? Nothing?

What would you say if PP forced their way into a school against the wishes of parents and the School District???
PP is ready willing and able to help... BUT THEY CAN'T FORCE YOU TO ASK THEM TO HELP!

Call your school district superintendent and ask him/her why PP hasn't been asked to help with this problem?
Complaining on a message board won't do any good, but your phone call and enough phone calls from
concerned parents will help.

As a proud supporter of PP, you praise its programs, how much it helps the youth..blah, blah, blah. BUT, when Schenectady has one of the highest pregnancy rates around where's PP and their campaign of knowledge. Where are they helping the youth other than doing D&Cs??

You mean to tell me, that a billion dollar worldwide organization doesn't have the power to go to the Schenectady school district and either (a) find out if they have a mandatory sex ed class or (b) if PP can come in and start doing some sex ed? Because PP knows damn well that there is a problem with information getting to the youth of the City.

But that's not their concern right? They don't have to be proactive just reactive right? Kinda' like all the teens that they see every single day.

IF PP had forced it's way into the Schdy schools, you'd be crying and whining "THIS IS SOCIALISM"!  

One more time... I am sure PP will help educate kids at the Schdy schools, but they have no power to do it
with out the permission and blessing of the Schdy School Board.

Apart from all your whining about PP... Today in Schdy PP is helping women (and men) of all ages...
With Breast exams, with STD screening and education, with family planning, with hundreds of services...
you sound ungrateful for the services they are preforming for the citizens of Schdy and can do nothing but
complain about what they can't do.

PP is doing a bang up job of serving the youth of Schenectady. What is the percentage of education that PP does for the masses? Did they forget that in Schenectady...or was it simply an oversight?

We had this HUGE debate about how wonderful PP is in Shen and how much it's needed in that school. YET, in Schenectady where abortions for teens are rampant, PP hides in their newer million dollar building on State Street. Isn't that one of the main goals for PP to bring education and prevention in order to avoid unwanted pregnancies?

So why hasn't PP gone to the Schenectady School District for such a pressing issue? If you think the PARENTS in Schenectady would reject them....HAHAHAHAHAHAAH...they won't even sign the slips for their kids to opt-in for sex ed...you'll have little to zero of an argument.

Face it Box, PP does not want to educate the people of Schenectady. The poor and uneducated are simply a way PP keeps collecting State and Fed money. If you educate them, they might listen and learn....and PP doesn't want that. They'd be out of business.

41,754 family planning visits in our 13 health centers.

83% of Patient Visits in our area are Prevention & Treatment which consist of annual exams, birth control,
breast & cervical cancer screening, HIV tests, pregnancy tests, sexually transmitted infections tests/treatment.

23,254 people participated in 1,837 Planned Parenthood education programs in our area.  Community education
includes:
• childbirth education classes
• health fairs
• individual/family sessions
• professional trainings
• school and college presentations
• sexual assault prevention programs

Rachael72....... We have many friends, acquaintances and family members who are 'deeply' involved in the troubled teen/pregnancy/crime issues in the entire capital district. You can throw new laws on the books, you can throw PP at these kids, you can throw religious organizations at these kids and it will NOT and does NOT do anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These teens WANT to have babies and they do NOT care who the 'baby's daddy' is. Their exact words are........'if I have a baby, I'll have something to love'. NO KIDDING. FACT. They have sh!tty home lives and are looking to make a family of their own. THE TRUTH!!!!! These kids are anywhere from 10 years old to 14 years old and many already have 'babies'.

They have been or are in group homes, delinquent homes and have gone for countless months of counseling. PP is part of this so called 'sex training' and so are religious organizations. BOTTOM LINE IS.........these kids aren't and won't listen. THEY WANT BABIES.....PERIOD!!! Some are violent in nature and still show up pregnant.

This is real life folks. You don't need to 'cut, paste and/or quote' here! THIS IS THE UGLY FACTS!! And it is everywhere!!

In most cases this is NOT a sex issue. It goes way beyond that!
