I guess Zinc that makes up our pennies is to expensive now Maybe Monopoly money should be used as competition to our currency since they devalued it so much. Pennies in 1981 and before used to be 95% copper, a semi-precious metal. Dimes, quarters, halves, and dollar coins used to be 90% silver up until 1964, a precious metal. Interesting enough people are now selling their copper pennies on places like ebay for 1.5X-2X face value and people are buying them.
