Good thing Bob Farley along with the Metroplex gave TWC $2.7 Million Dollars of taxpayer money.  Looks like businesses are beginning to see the writing on the wall and pulling up stakes.  They sucked the taxpayers dry as long as they could.  Time to move to a more business friendly state.

the jobs created are 'shakedown' jobs......lower income jobs.....folks who have been unemployed from higher paying jobs are forced to take 'sh!t' jobs.....even in healthcare.....healthcare is adding jobs but they are NOT the jobs that
would afford one a house in a nice neighborhood......$10-$15/hour gets you 'the hill'

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

So you say these jobs are "shakedown" jobs then DON'T APPLY. Stay on welfare, milk the system and don't try and better yourself I don't care any more.
People cry that ther's no jobs or should they say there are no hi paying jobs that they want. I have a relitive that has had job offers and refused them because of the lower pay now he cashed in his 401 and still has no job, you have to start some where.

With the way NY taxes more jobs will relocate south to save money, GE did the same in the early 70's

I'm not saying don't apply.....what I'm saying is that the rhetoric used by our leaders about "new jobs this, new jobs that, rosy rosy times" is very misleading, disheartening, dehumanising to the
plebs who live like this......it's like a parent eating cookies in front of the child then saying do as I say not as I do......it's the beginning of mental illness.....

the leaders treat the masses like idiots and they sow mistrust....hence NEVER TRUST THE GOVERNMENT......the manipulation of such has brought us here......

whiny Mr. Buffet who feels so F'EN guilty in his status should just give it up to the masses himself......Mr. Moore(who is a 1%) can help him........OR....they can speak plain truth or we will
shut them the F up

Actually, Bob Farley has nothing to do with this.  These are jobs that they have in their facility on Washington Ave. Extension down in Albany.

The Rotterdam facility was built to accommodate the eventual expansion.  Looks like TWC had second thoughts.

Quoted Text
...Rotterdam is just one of several locations under consideration, according to the company.  The Metroplex Development Authority on Monday discussed a proposal to help relocate Time Warner headquarters to Rotterdam.  Details of the proposal were not made public. The authority's board of directors met behind closed doors for more than 2 hours.  Time Warner is seeking to relocate from its cramped Albany headquarters.  The company employs 375 people at 130 Washington Avenue Extension, a company official said.  Future growth is anticipated....Peter Taubkin, Time Warner's VP for government and public affairs, said the company has between 375 and 400 employees at Washington Avenue Extension headquarters.  The company hopes to move "as soon as possible" he said Monday..."We're thrilled about Time Warner coming here," said Farley.  "But it's not a done deal.  We're very hopeful on this."

Thanks for the clarification.  Looks like Metroplex is as much of a success as it always has been.

Time Warner is at capacity at the Rotterdam site (no room for added departments) and the Washington Ave site is full also. The New Karner Rd site is being
renovated to move the jobs from Washington Ave. At least another vacant building is used for something. If TW moves out down the road renovations
are done so another business could come in and not have to do much on the inside saving them $$$ and possibly adding jobs

The nayboobs just like to spew negativity and hatred.  They couldn't care less about the TRUTH therefore they don't actually bother to educate themselves on the actual facts.

The FACT is that the jobs did NOT go to Schenectady, they WENT to the South. Stop trying to LIE, Ron. You FAILED at getting these jobs in Rotterdam. ASLEEP at the SWITCH , looking at gay Turkish teen movies INSTEAD of doing the work of the PEOPLE on the Planning Board?

(How is that for an imitation of a SNARKEY QUEEN?)

The truth of the matter is.......TW is moving jobs OUT OF SCHENECTADY/NYS  all together!! What a surprise, huh? And as far as a 'ready to use' vacant building.........Schenectady is full of them and there still are no buyers UNLESS of course, the METROPLEX/GILLEN/EMPIRE ZONE give them those open ended tax exemptions and little to no interest loans.
Then they move OUT!!!

The Planning Commission exists to review and decide whether to approve or disapprove of applications for building permits, site plans, use variances, etc  --- it does NOT have the power or authority to "get jobs".  Apparently the nayboobs are confused between the role of the Town Board and economic development specialista - and the actual role of the Planning Commission.

Very reminiscent of Cardio Mag. Millions from the Plex, tax exempt and they flee Duane Avenue for Latham once their property/school taxes come due.

The 'loyalty' does not stem from throwing millions at a business...loyalty is the total package. Affordable homes, taxes in line with other areas, a safe place to live and raise a family and a good school system...just to start.

The City cannot provide a conducive business environment. If middle class people can't afford to live here, how is a business going to survive and take root? It can't...even with 7 economic agencies.
