McDonald's to Stop Using "Pink Slime" in Hamburgers
KTLA News

4:53 p.m. PST, January 31, 2012
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- McDonald's has announced that it will stop using a controversial food additive known as "pink slime" in its hamburgers.

The filler is made from spare beef trimmings that are treated with ammonium hydroxide to kill bacteria.

The "pink slime" is approved by the USDA.

The agency says that using the meat additive is safe, but the "slime" has been criticized by food activists, including chef Jamie Oliver.

I've said all along... "Fast Food" isn't really 'food'.

HEY YOU WANT LESS GOVT... this is what you get!
Remember CAPITALISM?  (screw the consumer ism)

If you buy ground beef in a supermarket... you are most likely buying 15% Pink Slime in your meat.  It's allowed
by the USDA as a filler in ground beef.

Less Govt... More Slime!

Box, it's just the opposite.  Big brother at the USDA approved it.  They know best, no need for the individual to check for themselves.  Big brother has our best interests at heart.  It's probably illegal to advertise against mcdonalds and the "pink slime" since it's USDA approved.  You'd get slapped with a libel lawsuit.

I would prefer a government regulation to protect US consumers from additives, or at least require that the additives
are on the label.  BIG Govt would protect US consumers from the Capitalist greed of promoting guts as if it were
eatable.
The Right prefers salmonella, garbage and listeria in their Capitalist food.
NO REGULATIONS ON BUSINESS... LIVE FREE OR DIE!

Wimpy liberals prefer beef in their beef, and chicken in their chicken... but that would require GOVT Regulation... so
keep on sucking down your Smaller Govt Pink Slime.

No, reality is, big government protects big corporate business from legal liability.  Big corporation gives huge contributions to politicians and uses their influence to approve their additives protecting them from legal liability.  But, to a person like you that thinks government is pure and ALWAYS good intentioned, and that bureaucracies don't have their own greedy self interests; you will continue to buy into the big government promise and utopia.

If capitalist greed needs to be regulated for corruption and greed...Who is charged with regulating the largest corporation called the federal government from corruption and greed?  People point to the example of ENRON as an example of greed and how they stole people’s life savings and retirement.  What about NYS and California and a pension system that is in debt?  That isn't greed?  Why, because they have the power of government to take my money and lower my standard of living so politicians can make good on bad deals they made so they can win elections?  Big government over the last 50 years has shown to be the most corrupt organization on earth.

People who buy into big government actually believe that once you crossover from private sector to public sector, the human condition of greed and corruption go away. As long as they are of the preferred party government greed is legitimate.  It truly sickens me.

Its Government approved Pink Slime, not Capitalist.  It was approved by the USDA...Comprehension problem?   Big Brother fed you the slime, as long as Mickey D’s kept the tax money and campaign contribution rolling in…Mickey D’s put it in without fear of legal liability.  It could come out years from now the pink slime causes autism, and Mickey D’s is off the hook, since it was USDA approved.  So let’s thank Big Brother for years of pink slime and its unknown effects on our health.
