Watervliet Arsenal, a 'whore' in the service of the Military Industrial Complex (MIC).

The Watervliet Arsenal was established to offer a young nation a means of self defense.  To this end the arsenal performed well.  When the young nation decided to become an empire the mission of the arsenal changed.

Making 120mm guns for Egypt is not the business of the Watervliet Arsenal.  Making 120mm guns for tanks deployed in US military formations is the Arsenal's business.  At a point in American history between the presidency of Adams & Roosevelt (Teddy) America made a 180 degree turn.  The turn has led US down a path of  two world wars & a dilution of American values at home which may result in the break up of the United States.

Now to the home front;  Numerous opportunities have existed over the decades to convert the Arsenal grounds to non military commercial use.  Politicians who like having their pictures taken by howitzers (Solomon ®, McNulty (D), to name two) & a chorus of local camp followers (former Mayor of Watervliet Leo O'Brien) made sure only 'small change' came to Watervliet.  Now Watervliet will send tank guns to Egypt, what next, napalm to Syria?

Like America the beautiful & the intent of the Watervliet Arsenal is in the hands of the internationalist, not Americans.  God Bless America, no one else will.

PS  A refrain from an Irish war song;  "A nation once again"!
