visitor is also missing the point. I would make the case that there is a high chnace that there is a higher percentage of unreported crime in Schenectady than in other counties.

The reporters interviewed people from the Salvation Army breakfast the day of the incident. More than one person said that it's dangerous Downtown and in the City. They also said that it's not safe to walk by yourself...and these are the people in the City EVERYDAY!! They are the people LIVING in the City. They aren't looking at statistics, they LIVE THE REALITY!
Try it sometime Visitor. You might get a real lesson in what is truly happening in the City...if you actually lived here.
Schenectady has the first murder in the Capital District in 2012. Before 9AM in the B of A parking lot. Another of many firsts. This proves again that cameras are no substitute for police on a beat. Where are the morons posting that no violent crimes happen Downtown? Yes murder, shotgun attacks and rapes but no violent crimes to speak of. And of course nothing unusual -the moral equivalency of a missing bird? Sickening. We went years without a murder in this City. But that was before the alleged miracle and before handouts to millionaire developers.
Yeah, it IS compared to many other parts of the city. True. Where else is there a steady patrol and walking beat? Obviously there are not enough police to cover it all because the city is about half low-life now (congratss democraps- your plan worked) but for the regime to portray DT as wonderfully utopic is a lie, as usual.
