State workers worried about getting shot and stabbed - that's odd because based on this mornings report, many would prefer to stay in the City.

Many of you seem almost ecstatic about this loss of jobs in the City.  Strange reaction

No one likes change.

We are not all ecstatic about the loss.  What does excite us is that fact that it shows that we may be closer to imploding which is the only way we are going to shed ourselves from the bloat that exists in this city today.  We are tired of the dragged out decline.  Bloated pensions, paying 95% of healthcare, the free cars, the handouts and exemptions to those businesses in the know.

First....I don't know what dot workers, visitor is talking to....cause we know many folks who work there who can't wait to get out!

Second.....exactly how many of these dot employees actually live in the city of schenectady? None that we know of!

Third.....it's not 'where' they are moving that they don't like.........it's the actual move itself which is always somewhat chaotic until everyone settles in.

Perhaps Transfinder can move in there....yes?

We are elated! The entire corrupt Metrograft as documented in two separate State audits is coming down. DEMS aren't for State jobs? ROTFLMAO!! The facts is that a REP Governor cared about Schenectady, brought high paying jobs Downtown and Cuomo is now pulling them out. The comments from Death Ray border on insanity. He doesn't want public jobs but is now begging the State to replace these workers. No wonder the unemployment rate Downtown is over 25%. Of course the State employees would rather be on Wolf Rd near their homes, shopping and lower crime. This is causing a long overdue look at Metrograft, the IDA's and all the nonsense that masquerades for economic development here.

The sucking on the teat by the city and poor fiscal responsibility contributed to the the State being in a poor fiscal situation.  Perhaps if the city did a better job at utilizing the grants and aid provided to the city then the State would not be pulling the workers out.

It is a common theme of the administration to act as though grant money is free money and it all needs to be used up.  Same thing with Aid.....max it out or they will take it away from us......that is not true.

Now we are paying the price for our failure to be fiscally responsible especially with the handouts.  We used up any semblemlance of releif by selling out to the unions and associations (ie. PBA)

There are more good places to eat lunch on Wolf Rd than in Schenectady and besides they also have a cafeteria in the building so they don't even have to leave the building. The traffic is horrible on Wolf Rd between black Friday and the first week in January due to Christmas shoppers but the rest of the year isn't too bad.

Not being able to walk to lunch?????     There are more restaurants within walking distance of 50 Wolf than there are downtown.   And they don't have to walk in the paths of those mental people up by the Bank of America or the panhandlers and other low lifes downtown.   THey have Taco Bell only a couple feet away next door, next to Taco is Chiies, next to Chiles is Hooters. On the other side of the building just next door a couple feet away is a Buca's.   Directly across is a Dunkin Donuts and a Panera Bread and Cheesecake Factory and everything else in Colonie Center.

The paper is garbage.  Who cares, its done and doesnt matter what the people want.  They are moving.  Remember, we have Transfinder though!!!!!!   Whose main competitor (Doing a little better) is based out of Latham.

I would guess it's the very very very few who live in Schenectady.    Or maybe some that may live in Amsterdam for whom the drive will be a little longer, but about 10 minutes
