NISKAYUNA — A man escaped with an undetermined amount of cash after robbing the M&T Bank Thursday morning, police said.
Shortly before 9:45 a.m., the robber walked into the Union Street bank, accosted the teller and showed a note demanding money.
The teller handed over the cash and the thief fled in a car that was seen traveling on Eastern Parkway toward Schenectady.
The bandit is described as a white male with a medium build wearing dark pants, a coat and hat. Police said they may have surveillance video of the crime.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 374-3159.
Also Thursday, police arrested a 20-year-old woman from Canajoharie in a reported robbery Thursday of the Xtra Mart convenience store on Troy Schenectady Road. Police said just before 1 a.m., Erica Fredette stormed into her former workplace, grabbed an employee by the neck, and snatched money from a safe.
