Right. The downfall of Hostess is simply based upon their unwillingness to change?

How about the labor cost, TWO unions demanding more and the extremely high price businesses pay to DO business in this country.

Sure, Hostess stayed in this Country only to be crippled by Union demands, taxes upon taxes and they have not received any government bailouts either. If they had gone to China, Pakistan...maybe they'd avoid all that right???

Start looking at the hundreds of millions GE has been given time and time again from the State and Feds or the $545 million given to Solyar a failed solar panel company (courtesy of the feds).

Want to jump all over an industry which remained in this country...take a look who is getting fat off the government AND the taxpayers.

Keep shopping at Walmart and buying from China......

Get as close to 9 servings of vegetables and fruits each day   (6 of those serving being vegetables and 3 being fruit) --- and don't deprive yourself .... if there is a "special treat" that you enjoy plan it into your weekly menu and enjoy it in moderation.

Ron, that doesn't mean eat 9 meals a day ... just wanna make sure you understand that.

you may be eating 9 meals a day and/or misunderstood the very clear, simple words that I wrote --either way it is one of your many problems to address on your own

#1) the comments made about Hostess unwillingness to diversify have been made by business analysts -- not just by me  ...  so it is a valid point

#2) I buy local from small businesses and producers  --  I shop at WalMart no more than once or twice a year and even then it was items actually made/produced in America ..  so you'll have to find someone else to blame for buying from China

I confess, I have never once eaten one. I have had a coffee cake jr a few times in high school. It is sad when any brand dies, or when any business folds. But that is the reality of the free market and consumers (people) make the ultimate decisions.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Not to worry ....  the business analysts predict that some other company or companies may buy the Wonder Bread and Twinkie product lines ... if Hostess itself does not survive this trip through Chapter 11

The majority of the grown ups have a family that depends on us, and operate on a tight budget, so we have to buy at discount stores so we have enough money at the end of the year to pay our obscene taxes for a failed theater, and to give millions to millionaires like BBL and Galesi.

I'm actually kind of envious of you.  I wish I was middle aged and living at home care free, like when I was 18 and just out of high school.

The lesson to be learned from the Hostess bankruptcy and the Kodak decline is that organizations -- businesses, communities and even political organizations have to work hard to remain up-to-date and relevant -- instead of blocking and attacking all change  ... we should be attentive and vigilant, aware of trends and developments and PLANNING TO COPE WITH/PREPARE FOR/EFFECTIVELY MANAGE CHANGE.
