Guantanamo Closure Hopes Fade As Prison Turns 10
BY BEN FOX   01/10/12 03:01 AM ET

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Suleiman al-Nahdi waits with dozens of other prisoners in a seemingly permanent state of limbo five years after he was cleared for release from Guantanamo Bay.

"I wonder if the U.S. government wants to keep us here forever," the 37-year-old al-Nahdi wrote in a recent letter to his lawyers.

Open for 10 years on Wednesday, the prison seems more established than ever. The deadline set by President Barack Obama to close Guantanamo came and went two years ago. No detainee has left in a year because of restrictions on transfers, and indefinite military detention is now enshrined in U.S. law....................>>>>................>>>>.....................http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/10/guantanamo-closure-anniversary_n_1195984.html

With the passing of NDAA I'm sure they're looking into expanding the prison.

it will just get 'updates' and 'additions' and then rhetorically have it's name changed so that it becomes palatable to the masses or just plain accepted......

we just better hope we all have a minority report....oh wait,,,,,it doesn't F'EN matter......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

13 year old was the youngest detainee.  We don't detain them anymore; they get the ole hellfire missile up the a** from a drone.  And that's what we do to our own citizens.

In the 50's we had the Red Menace.  Now we have the Muslim Menace.  Good fascism unifies a nation behind a common enemy.  And America never runs out of perceived enemies.  American citizens are now on the enemies list.  The Bill of Rights is GONE!
