A White House “Alice in Wonderland” costume ball — put on by Johnny Depp and Hollywood director Tim Burton — proved to be a Mad-as-a-Hatter idea that was never made public for fear of a political backlash during hard economic times, according to a new tell-all.
“The Obamas,” by New York Times correspondent Jodi Kantor, tells of the first Halloween party the first couple feted at the White House in 2009. It was so over the top that “Star Wars” creator George Lucas sent the original Chewbacca to mingle with invited guests.

The book reveals how any official announcement of the glittering affair — coming at a time when Tea Party activists and voters furious over the lagging economy, 10-percent unemployment rate, bank bailouts and Obama’s health-care plan were staging protests — quickly vanished down the rabbit hole...............>>>>..................>>>>..............Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/in_blunderland_hKpNQkHfvpEWe4F51kI4dP#ixzz1ixisbLP9

That's because the MSM is against you. It's part of that Global Conspiracy that you keep hearing about!
They are all Socialists and spend their day deceiving the American people.

It matters because the people need to know all the facts before they can make an intelligent decision. Remember this was going to be the most transparent government ever and every bill would be posted on the internet for 72 hours before being voted on.

The Obamas hosted a 'Alice in Wonderland' party for children of military personnel... The bastards!

The party could have been done with a lot less money and still been a good gesture. It's never the act but always the cover up that leads to trouble.

How much less money?  How much did this party cost the taxpayers?  How is this different than similar events by
Republican Presidents?

Shadow is outraged by an Obama party for Military kids, yet has no problem sending their dads and moms off to
war in Iraq when George Worst Bush was the Pres.

No Cic... it's really the story of Alice (played by George W Bush) who goes into Iraq looking for the WMD's...
but we all know the WMD's were always a fairy tail.

I'm not outraged about just the Alice In Wonderland Party but all the money that has been spent in the last 3 years on crap like Solyndra, shovel ready jobs that weren't there, the total abuse of power by the executive branch, and lie after lie told to the American people by this administration.

Your outrage is about "Obama's total abuse of power by the executive branch, and lie after lie told to the American
people by this administration."...

Nothing Obama has done or will do will cost the USA as much dollars or lives as the Bush Optional Oil War In Iraq,
or the Bush Economic Meltdown.
Your rage is aimed at Democrat lies and wasted tax dollars about a kids party...
Hypocrisy!

One word Box: Health-are will cost us more than all the debt that Bush caused.

RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR   07/28/11 11:17 AM ET
WASHINGTON — The nation's health care tab is on track to hit $4.6 trillion in 2020, accounting for about $1 of every $5 in the economy, government number crunchers estimate in a report released Thursday.

How much is that? Including government and private money, health care spending in 2020 will average $13,710 for every man, woman and child, says Medicare's Office of the Actuary.

Compare it to this year, when U.S. health care spending is projected to top $2.7 trillion, about $8,650 per capita, or roughly $1 of $6 in the economy. Most of those dollars go to provide care for the sickest people.

Along with rising costs, the report found that the share of the health care tab paid by the government keeps growing, approaching half the total.

The update from Medicare economists and statisticians is an annual barometer of a trend that many experts say is unsustainable, but doesn't seem to be slowing. A political compromise over the nation's debt and deficits might succeed in tapping the brakes on health care, but polarized lawmakers have been unable to deliver a deal.

The analysis found that President Barack Obama's health care overhaul would only be a modest contributor to growing costs, even though an additional 30 million otherwise uninsured people stand to gain coverage.

.

If Health Care costs us as much as the Bush Oil War... then we will at least have healthy people... the Bush Oil War
was a total loss.

If Health Care cost us as much as the Bush Economic Meltdown... then at least we will have purchased something
with that money... America will be insured and have proper health care.

In most of the developed world, universal health care is a right... Only in the USA is health care looked on as
an unnecessary expense.
