Ok folks.........we just got back from dinner with our friends who live in colonie. They do confirm that letters have been sent to Trader Joes for YEARS inviting them to the area. However, they also said that the final decision was based on many factors that included the economic climate of the area which they felt did quite well even though we are in a deep recession.
They also said that the new Shop Rite is not a 'done deal' as of yet!
So there ya have it!!

The FACT is that Colonie residents petitioned and invited the company to take a look at their town -- the company took a look at their town and decided to come. Just because a few stubborn nayboobs want to try to start a pissing match over how much the petitions and invitations influenced the decision is pointless. The FACT is that it did get the company to TAKE A LOOK.

Yeah, successful companies always use an anecdotal information rather than hard study work and research in making a multi-million dollar decisions. Just like local political leaders who are bleeding our taxpayers dry.

Remember the last business he said wanted to come to Rotterdam....they asked the Town Supervisor to call them!!!! And DVOR said the TS never did, so that's why the business didn't come. And let's not forget the worlds greatest BBQ that he said he was thinking of opening or was going to be partner in or was responsible for trying to get them to open in Rotterdam (never did understand which version it was)....where are they now. Oh, yah, and the town people that presented points agains the proposed CVS, they are all wrong too.....DVOR SAYS SO !!!
