maybe during the state 'safety grab for money' called  'click it or ticket' they could hand out pamphlets about the homes for sale in Schenectady.....

I mean, look at the two on Ardsley Rd..   They have been sitting for sale for a year and they STILL are trying to sell for near or above assessed value?

SCHENECTADY -- A woman in the Upper Union Street neighborhood awoke Saturday morning to find a burglar in her bedroom.

Schenectady police said the Ardsley Road woman woke up around 5:25 a.m. Saturday and saw a man in her bedroom rummaging through her belongings. She chased him out of the house, and police apprehended him a short time later. Police charged Daryl J. Hewitt, 25, with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Police said he gained access to the house through a side door. He was arraigned in city court and sent to the Schenectady County Jail.

Wow.   Maybe that's why.   And there are and have been other houses on Ardsley Rd for sale, lots of them.    DV won't elaborate on this alleged renaissance.

There was another house yesterday on the "Key" program, at 1325 Webster St.

ALSO, in yesterday's paper:

1.    "...he is accused ot stabbing another person with a knife April 22 at 1305 Webster St...."

2.    "...of Webster St, was charged Sunday with one county of second-degree rape...."    The child was 15 (or under age 15 depending on how you read it).

Why wasn't McC in front of the house on Webster St trying to get people to buy it?   Wouldn't it make more sense to try to interest people into moving into the less "desirable" parts of the city in the hopes of getting owner-occupants in there who typically take pride in their home and would stabilize the neighborhoods?

If McC was truly interested in attracting people outside the city to moving INTO the city, wouldn't McC mandate that his department heads live IN the city, perhaps IN the less desirable neighborhoods?   Wasn't there a program of sorts to get police to buy houses in the city?   How did that work out?

Oh yeah, and this year in the city (of Schenectady) itself, there should be at least 5,000 homeowners grieving their assessments

If 5,000 out of the 26,000 total homes in the City of Schenectady challenge the assessment, it is likely that at least 10,000 are assessed too high.

Half or less are willing/unaware of the method of  challenge.

In the city budget they claim roughly 32 million comes from real property taxes.

With 26,000 homes, that's an average of $1,230 per home average for the entire city.

That seems suspiciously low.

Can that be right?

Guess McC has realized program to use taxpayer money to attempt to sell houses is a big failure.   No open houses this weekend?

Then I thought perhaps they'd do it next week, but next week will be the weekend for all the graduation parties.   Oh wait, next weekend may be the open house weekend, not enough graduation in the city to interfere with open houses.

Of course, the city hasn't made public the results of spending the taxpayer money

So, the taxpayer funded open house will happen this coming weekend.   And he thinks people will skip the graduation parties (that's for kids outside of the city) and come to an open house in the city?

ROFL

By the way, the gazette finally had some house sales in the paper   They reported on about three weeks of sales in Saratoga Co.   There were like 150 homebuyers that CHOSE to buy a house IN Saratoga Co in just that three week period of time.

Schenectady, it takes three MONTHS to accomplish that!   And of course, most of the sales are OUTSIDE of the city

Another taxpayer funded open house.

Hey, this coming Sunday, June 24, there are houses on the tour in Woodlawn, and well, that Ardsley they are STILL trying to sell AFTER ONE WHOLE YEAR ON THE MARKET - NO ONE -- NO ONE WANTS TO BUY!!!!!!!!!!!

And then there's a house on Guilderland Ave.

Do you think McC will have the tour bus travel through the city to get from one end to the other?   As they are leaving from Ardsley Rd, and going down Brandyine where there is a stop, then continue down Brandywine when the mayor is speaking on the Loud Speaker on the bus, oh wait, they only need a mini bus because a full size bus would NEVER be filled.   So here is the mayor talking, "And now we make our way down Brandywine Ave, you can go up to Central Park up that street, now here is Becker St where just a couple blocks, an elderly man was stabbed Thursday night,..."

No, McC will take people up to those house by SHS, then probably travel down Grand blvd INTO Nisky and turn down a street to go thru Central Park where he can brag, and they will probably open the barricades, then go down to Consaul.   After the Woodlawn houses they'll get on Xtoiwn and 890 to get to Broadway to Guilderland Ave and avoid most of the city.

So, what's on the tour this month?

The ones in green have been on either last month, every month, or have reappeared on the tour:

So, is the taxpayer funded bus operating in the city today?

Since you would think that those who did graduate will be at parties today in their honor, they won't be available to be exploited by the mayor to attempt to cheer for a failing school system.

So do you think the students who failed to graduate will be greeters today?

If they can only figure out how to raise taxes more and get more out of the private sector and enlarge the public sector- everything will be great.
