Young People More Likely To Favor Socialism Than Capitalism: Pew The Huffington Post Alexander Eichler First Posted: 12/29/11 05:43 PM ET Updated: 12/29/11 06:45 PM ET
Young people -- the collegiate and post-college crowd, who have served as the most visible face of the Occupy Wall Street movement -- might be getting more comfortable with socialism. That's the surprising result from a Pew Research Center poll that aims to measure American sentiments toward different political labels.
The poll, published Wednesday, found that while Americans overall tend to oppose socialism by a strong margin -- 60 percent say they have a negative view of it, versus just 31 percent who say they have a positive view -- socialism has more fans than opponents among the 18-29 crowd. Forty-nine percent of people in that age bracket say they have a positive view of socialism; only 43 percent say they have a negative view......................>>>>....................>>>>...................http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/29/young-people-socialism_n_1175218.html

That's what most of the young college students are taught by their very liberal professors and they haven't got enough experience to think for themselves yet. |

After years of Conservative Loud Mouths (like Druggy Rush) spewing venom about "socialism", the brand now has a bad name. "Libertarians" on the other hand, have earned their poor showing all by themselves. If you look to the most positive moniker on the list... PROGRESSIVES are viewed the most Positive with the least Negatives. |

When you have a generation of lazy a$$ kids.....of course they will look at socialism as a cash cow. They don't want to work, pay their bills or take any responsibility for themselves. So the progressive liberal socialist government is the best thing since sliced bread for them. I say 'bring it on'! Let this new generation of lazy a$$ slugs have the government take care of them.........cause obviously they can NOT take care of themselves!! My best to them all!! |

Bumble has a low regard for the next generation. I'm sure they will make mistakes... Maybe even as big a mistake as electing GWB was for his generation. I expect much from the next generation... I don't see them as "Lazy a$$ kids." |

Didn't the parents and grandparents of the generation of "lazy a$$ kids" set up the social welfare structure? This system was set up by previous generations of elites, in order to CREATE generations of Americans dependent on government. The parents of the lazy a$$ kids are the progressive, liberal, socialists. It's a learned behavior. Now it’s the job of the generation of lazy a$$ kids to undo the mess their parents created. |

The parents (and grandparents) of the "lazy a$$ kids and of the hippy/yuppys are the Ron Paul Generation. Should we blame him??? |

I blame each generation for their mistakes, and applaud each for their accomplishments.
Some kids are a success because of their parents, others are a success in spite of their parents. |

If his governing philosophy was prevalent in American government. But it wasn't. The prevailing governing and economic philosophy of the previous generation was central planning and central banking. And now it is broke, and Ron Paul is saying 'I told you so'. |

I see lazy kids, I see average kids, and I see exceptional kids today... Just like there was when I was a kid... No difference |

Again, slamming this generation as being lazy... What percent of kids today are lazy bumble? All of them, half of them 1% of them??? You condemn the entire generation by citing a small percentage of them who are occupiers. |
