The more the government grows the worse the debt problem will become for the taxpayer who have to pay for them. |

Some govt programs cost the taxpayer... others save taxpayer dollars. WIC is a good example. Every Taxpayer Dollar spent on WIC saves three dollars in Health Care cost later on.
Big govt... Small govt... isn't the issue. The real issue is GOOD GOVERNMENT. For Conservatives the only Good Govt is NO GOVERNMENT. (except when they are the ones sucking down the benefits) |

First, how do you know this stuff? Second, all government programs cost the taxpayer. You are of the collectivist mindset. You believe YOURS and MY individual health and prosperity is second to the health and prosperity of the collective state. WIC program does not save ME money on MY healthcare. It takes the fruits of MY labor and redistributes it to those they have made dependent on government programs. |

Big government is the problem. They stole money from Social Security to fund other programs. They were responsible for running Fannie and Freddiewhich caused the housing collapse. Solyndra, the Chevy Volt, and many other countless programs that wasted billions of the taxpayers dollars. Government can't even keep our borders safe from those that would harm us. Welfare is another area where there is a ton of waste. Yes grow the government until the inverted pyramid crushes you under it's weight. |

Q. First, how do you know this stuff? .
A. I READ! (and almost never watch FoxSnooze) ~"WIC Saves Money The improved nutrition and nutrition education WIC provides to enrolled women and children results in enormous savings in health care dollars. • The U.S. General Accounting Office documented that WIC saves $3.50 in health care costs for every $1.00 spent on WIC services to pregnant women.http://www.cdph.ca.gov/programs/wicworks/Documents/NE/WIC-NE-EdMaterials-FactsAboutWIC.pdf |

Oh, great, a study conducted by a government agency that justify a government program. This is the same government that said bailing out corporate banks was necessary to save the average American. Goldman Sachs and other corporate banks conducted a study that shows that giving $700 BILLION in taxpayer dollars to corporate banks saved everybody from economic disaster. Of course this is unprovable since there is no evidence of what would have happened without a bailout. Lets suspend common sense and reality, and disregard the fact the interests conducting the study also benefits from a favorable outcome of the study. But hey, lets take it at face value. Box, let me hear ya say...BAAAAAAAAAHHHH....BAAAAAAAAHHHHH...BAAAAAAAAHHHH |

It's the same formula that the government used to come up with the jobs saved or created, it can't be proved or disproved. |

It must be really sad to live in Shadow & Cicero's world. Everything the govt does is against them. They pay for everything and get nothing in return... well almost nothing... They do get some things from their govt... Like Police protection, paved streets, their education, the largest most powerful military in the world, air traffic control, safe (relatively) food, their library, the supreme court... I could go on all day, but of course, Shadow and Cicero hate all these govt things... they hate and fear their own govt. A sad place to live |

Senders seems to have a poor understanding of WIC... The Goals of the WIC Program are: • To decrease the complications of pregnancy. • To prevent low birth weight babies. • To decrease iron deficiency anemia. • To promote optimum growth and development of infants and young children. In a country that finishes 46th in Infant Mortality, the USA has a long way to go to raise our youngest citizens. Countries with a lower infant mortality than the USA: 1. Singapore 2.31 2 Bermuda 2.46 3 Sweden 2.75 4 Japan 2.79 5 Hong Kong 2.92 6 Macau 3.22 7 Iceland 3.23 8 France 3.33 9 Finland 3.47 10 Anguilla 3.52 11 Norway 3.58 12 Malta 3.75 13 Andorra 3.76 14 Czech Republic 3.79 15 Germany 3.99 16 Switzerland 4.18 17 Spain 4.21 18 Israel 4.22 19 Slovenia 4.25 20 Liechtenstein 4.25 21 South Korea 4.26 22 Denmark 4.34 23 Austria 4.42 24 Belgium 4.44 25 Guernsey 4.47 26 Luxembourg 4.56 27 Netherlands 4.73 28 Jersey 4.73 29 Australia 4.75 30 Portugal 4.78 31 Gibraltar 4.83 32 United Kingdom 4.85 33 New Zealand 4.92 34 Monaco 5.00 35 Wallis and Futuna 5.02 36 Canada 5.04 37 Ireland 5.05 38 Greece 5.16 39 San Marino 5.34 40 Taiwan 5.35 41 Isle of Man 5.37 42 Italy 5.51 43 European Union 5.72 44 Cuba 5.82 45 Guam 6.05 46 United States 6.26 CIA Factbook 2009 |

For a person that thinks the world is over populated, I find your argument for WIC hilarious. |

Cicero's solution to overpopulation... Poor nutrition, poor health and disease But not Birth Control or family planning. |

Besides the military the Supreme Court, and possibly air traffic control (which arguably could be coordinated between states) everything else is a state, local and private function. The problem is the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT not all government. You continue to distort my position. It is the MASSIVE Federal Government that I take issue with. I'm fine with a local police department, or local and state taxes paying for roads. |
