Mary The Mother of Jesus, the consummate mother of all time. I chose to 'believe' there was a historical & spiritual Jesus.  Not making light of a serious matter but Jesus's father was divine.  Mary belonged to a sect that prepared to receive the Messiah within their ranks, Jesus was the Messiah.

Recently the Episcopalian Church (Catholic Lite) embraced Mary.  The reason was not spiritual but practical.  The Episcopalian's observed what a good thing the Catholic & Orthodox Churches had in embracing Mary.  Embrace Mary & they will come to your church.

The Templars were rumored to viewed Mary as an equal to Jesus.   This got them in deep water with the Vatican & the Templars destruction was secured.

Mary is not an unique spiritual being but a means for the gentler side of our nature to be expressed.  It is in that expression we find paradise.  We know the hang ups 'men' have with emotions, Mary bridges that gap.  In life or in 'heaven' it is natural, expected for man & woman, male & female to make a complete expression of God's love.

God is Jesus & Mary, that is the Trinity.  The Trinity I heard about in Catholic School was abstract, cold, the creation of man's mind.  Down through history there have been patriarchal & matriarchal belief systems, all paths to the Trinity.

The Templars were 'half right' but the Vatican had the "heavy battalions".

Now that you know the truth, live it.  Knowing is not enough.

Mary was born with sin and her 'surrogate' son was not.
Jesus died for Mary's sins also!
Mary was chosen to fulfill God's plan. Just like He has chosen 'all of us'........if only we'd listen and obey.
And that is Mary's attribute and contribution to Christian history.......She listened and obeyed. But was born with sin and she too needed a savior!

The Catholic church and others have made Mary an idol!!

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus was NOT Mary's surrogate son -- he was her biological son.   That is VERY clearly found in the Bible.

Jesus died for ALL peoples' sins -- but Mary .. according to the Doctrine of the Immaculate Conception was born without the stain of "original sin".

Finally,  The Catholic Church has NEVER made Mary an idol -- we venerate her as we venerate other Saints but with a bit more fervor since she is the Mother of Jesus.   ALL CATHOLIC TEACHING has repeatedly emphasized that only God  (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is worthy of worship.

I don't hate the catholic church. I was raised catholic and went to catholic school.
We're just don't follow catholicism toady.
As far as Mary....she was a person no different than any of us. She was in fact born with sin like any of us. She as well asher parents, as with any of us, were decedents of adam and eve so we are all born with sin and in need of a saviour same as Mary.

I don't agree with saying the hail mary or singing praises to mary, or lighting candles at her 'statue'.

Did it....done it....don't do it no more! But that's just me.

And again.......I don't hate the catholic religion or any other religion for that matter. We just don't follow their 'isms!

The FACTS...
Jesus was a man, born long ago, of a human mother and a human father.  He spread his message of  (Republicans take note)
love, compassion and helping your fellow man.
Although not that popular in his lifetime, he's gained quite a following after his death... Some say he even
preformed magic (miracles).  It's difficult to tell since most of what's been written about him comes from
his supporters years after his death,  who's agenda was to promote his cause.
There is  nothing actually written by Jesus that's survived to modern times.

He was condemned to death for a combination of blasphemy (from religious leaders) and treason (by the politicians)
He was executed by crucifixion at about the age of 33, and became the central focus of Christian religions.

Praise be God.....please .....we don't need sermon re the Catholic Church.....we all believe what we have been taught and so

believe....there is no one person that knows everything about the Church.....why is it that when religion is mentioned, statements

are read to what that person believes or perceices it to be.....

We can all respect each other's opinions and beliefs without any criticism from those who are practicing or believe differntly

The same rule is for politics too...

God bless you all and Happy New Year....may the blog be blessed with compassion and understanding ...

Amen

IMO, Jesus has been dead for centuries... so his loving (or anything else) is not possible.

No one knows everything about every religion or even one religion --- but some of us know a lot more about the Roman Catholic religion ... and certainly know enough that we must defend the Church from  uninformed or intentionally deceptive attacks from non-Catholics and disgruntled nonpracticing Catholics.

I wish someone would defend young boys from the Roman Catholic Church's Priests, Bishops and Cardinals...
The Church can take care of itself.

I love everyone of God's creation. I just don't 'like' some of them.
BIG DIFFERENCE!

And no one has to defend God........He is quite capable of doing that Himself........yes?

No one even has to defend their religious beliefs.......just practice them!
