No, there really isn't.  The original metric to measure metroplex success have been discarded for a new moving target of success that fits the party narrative.  Now having higher unemployment is success because "it would have been worse without it" is the new definition of success.  Or, claiming sales tax revenue is up without factoring for inflation.  Politicians distort the reality and the Gazette let's them, and the 40% that don't graduate SHS aren't educated enough to see through the distortion, so the buy their line of sh*t and pull the lever for Democrats like trained lemmings.

S Food Prices See Biggest Rise in 36 Years
Rough winter accounts for much of 3.9% increase
By the Associated Press

Posted Mar 16, 2011 5:53 PM CDT

(AP) – Americans are noticing higher prices at the grocery store, and it's about to get worse. Food prices at the wholesale level rose last month by the most in 36 years. Cold weather accounted for most of it, forcing stores and restaurants to pay more for green peppers, lettuce, and other vegetables, but meat and dairy prices surged, too. Food prices rose 3.9% last month, the most since November 1974.

At the same time, global prices for corn, wheat, soybeans, coffee, and other commodities have risen sharply in the past year. That's raised the price of animal feed, which has pushed up the cost of eggs, ground beef, and milk. Paul Ashworth, an economist at Capital Economics, says his firm has warned since last summer that spikes in commodity prices would eventually work their way down to wholesalers and consumers, "and here it is. There is plenty more to come over the next few months."

Energy prices were not flat.  Heating fuel is taxed in Schenectady County.

When people start moving back to Schenectady, the taxes are lowered to where they should be, and the graduation rate is at least 80% then you can shoot you mouth off about success.

STILL WAITING for Smoking to provide proof that property values are going up.

SB keeps copying the words of lowly newspaper workers who cite numbers and organizations, but when one goes to the websites of these organizations, and looks at the official reports, or when one goes ot the government websites, why is it that the sale prices and property values are much lower than what the lowly newspaper reporters write?

SB, YOU said that the newspaper reporter said that GCAR said the value in Schenectady was increased to $185,000.   Have you found that statemenbt on GCAR's webvsite yet?    Can you produce the report where GCAR states that?

Wghy do you REFUSE to provide the proof?   Can you respond with the words "it does not exist because property values in Schenectady are NOT anywhere near that high"

If you claim values are going up, then tell us WHT your REFUSE to provide links to official and reliable sources that show the numbers, huh?

We've been waiting for several months for you to produce proof, whty have you not done so yet?    Why not SB?

And Hamburg aka DV and all his other names, we are stil waiting for YOU to provide proof of your claim that the county portion of property taxes is the lowest since the 50's.   Why DV have you refused to provide proof?     Why not, DV?    Is it because you merely copied from some dem socialist propaganda?   Come on DV, tell us what the levy was back then and what the levy is today.   Telk us what the tax RATE was back then and what the tax RATE is today---be sure to take into account the difference in equalization rate, the RAR and UPI.   Can you successfully produce that information dV?  And produce the typical dollar amount of the count portion of tax BILLs back then and what it is today.   Can you do that?    Heck, you don't even know what this terminology means!

It's been noted, Smoking Bananas still has NOT provided one shred of proof

SB typed words in a message claiming that values are going up, but has not cited any proof.

Sb has not provided the actual numbers with a link to the source.

Ah, SB, just tell us, you have no proof whatsoever, and all you do is copy the errors of some lowly newspaper worker, huh?

Yeah, and stil waiting for DV to provide the numbers showing the county tax rate today is lowest since the 50's.  Well, DV, where are your numbers????   Tell us what the tax rate was  back then and what it is now.   Well????   Oh yeah, you can't answer that because you only copied and pasted fromm your dem socialist propaganda.

well?   Either of you two socialists have proof?
