well, the proof is in black and white. here it is, straight from the abO:

Based on the data from 2005 to 2010, it appears that Metroplex has been relatively successful in its mission. Property values have increased at a rate above that in the region and much greater than the increase in the rest of the
9
State. Sales taxes have also increased during the period at a much higher rate than the rest of the region or upstate New York. Yet, the economic development data regarding jobs and employment rates are not as consistently positive.

I love a good joke, that is why I come here.

Schenectady County is the only county in the Capital Region and one of only a few in NYS that collects county sales tax on the sale of heating fuel.  The price of petroleum has achieved record highs during recent years.  The tax receipts follow.

As an aside, while a Republican, County Legislator Santabarbara supported the elimination of the tax on this essential commodity.  As a Democrat, he seemingly supports the continued collection and expenditure of the revenues by government as he no longer champions the cause.

If the increase in 'property values' is determined by the corrupt method in which the City assessor tripled property assessments- then I would find that statement false.

AAA building (assessed at over $375,000) was 'sold' to metroplex for $175,000?

Just wondering how 'property values' were determined.....

It is not a success when you figure that property taxes are the highest in the state!! And a success is not when the government uses the already overburdened tax payer's money to prop up select PRIVATE businesses.

Those who DO consider this a success is clearly a supporter of the socialist, anti-capitalistic society.

Again.......projecting a false sense of economic security!

Metroplex is successful relative to a third world country or a banana republic.  Just like you are intelligent relative to the mentally handicapped.

Interestingly,   Hugh Farley pointed to the successes of Metroplex during his 2010 reelection campaign --- and tried to take credit for them.

Republicants are just jealous that the DEMOCRATS ARE SUCCEEDING in improving Schenectady County.

I'm not a rank and file Rockefeller republican - WHO CARE WHAT BOB FARLEY SAYS?  Metroplex is a FAILURE...Taxes continue to go UP, property values are going DOWN, and total number of jobs went DOWN.

All Metroplex did was give subsidies and tax exemptions to politically connected developers to dress up some buildings downtown, build new buildings to relocate businesses already located in the County, and sold it as success and economic development.

Metroplex continues to have to increase their lending cap because they know that without the incentive of cheap or even FREE taxpayer money to bribe businesses, the businesses will leave.

Schenectady County practices free market capitalism relative to fascist Italy.

Hahahahhahahaha.  Property values increasing.....more than the region....more than the State.  Your an imbecile.  Dumber than Hamburg, Scotsdog08 and even dumber that DVR.

The number of Tax exempt propertys have increased more in Schenectady County, partiularly the City.  When your tax exempt, you can sell a steak for half the price, sell more steaks and pay more sales taxes but that doesn't help the city.  It is called cannibalization.  It is called unfair business practices.  If the County was a Country it would be held a violating fair trade.

Go to school, shut up or both.

ahhh...The power of positive thinking...That's just a clever way of saying distort reality....It doesn't matter what I say, I don't have to convince you of anything, the laws of economics will prove me right in the end.

What I find funny is, the occupiers don't even understand that support of Metroplex is supporting the 1% they hate, with taxes they pay on each purchase within Schenectady County.

If the occupy movement knew what the f*** they were doing, they would be occupying every business that receives special privileges through government subsidies and tax exemptions.

Uses for Mean, Median & Mode

The mean, median and mode are measures of central tendency.

The mean, median and mode are measures of central tendency within a distribution of numerical values. The mean is more commonly known as the average. The median is the mid-point in a distribution of values among cases, with an equal number of cases above and below the median. The mode is the value that occurs most often in the distribution.

Mean

The mean is calculated by adding the value of each individual item in a group and dividing it by the total number of items in the group. For example, if you are at meeting of 10 people, and the sum of the ages of all attendees is 420, the mean age of the attendees is 420 divided by 10, or 42. The mean is used mostly as a general indicator for data, and works best when there are not a lot of outliers. For example, there is no way of knowing in this example whether some of the members are 90 and some are 5, or if all members are in their 40s.

Median

The median is the value that is the mid-point of a group of values, having an equal number of items in the group above and below it. For instance, in a room with five people aged 23, 25, 37, 44 and 87, the median age is 37, as there are an equal number of persons older and younger than 37. The median is used where strong outliers may skew the representation of the group, such as with incomes. If you have one person who earns $1 billion a year and nine other people who earn under $100,000 a year, the mean income for people in the group would be around $100 million, a gross distortion. The median income would be under $100,000, more closely representing the situation of the majority of the group.

Mode

The mode is not often used in describing data, but it can be useful in certain circumstances. Here's an example of determining a mode: If, in a room of 50 students, 30 are 7 years old and the rest are 6 or 8 years old, the mode of the ages is 7.
