As for Metroplex's job creation success, the authorities office found evidence that 27 Metroplex projects — not all of which are currently active — created 1,900 jobs as of June 2010. Metroplex puts the number at around 5,500,

Gillen provided the Times Union with a list of the 5,500 jobs. But some businesses appear to have existed before Metroplex or the IDAs provided financial assistance to them.

ABO Director David Kidera said, "Metroplex's official tactics in dealing with his office brings into question whether they are shooting from the hip OR MAKING THINGS UP or they had data they didn't want to share with us (The State)". ROTFLMAO!! It's all lies! They made up everything and got finally got caught by great State auditors. Dissolve these seven taxpayer black holes.

I mentioned on this message board some time ago that the oversight and review of Metroplex and the other economic agencies had just begun.  Watch for more findings to become public soon!

Metroplex Chairman Ray Gillen fired back, however, saying his staff made all files available and that the New York State Authorities Budget Office was trying to justify the expense of its review.

Metroplex's Gillen called Kidera's statements unfair and inaccurate and said his staff made all files available.

"The ABO spent eight months and approximately $100,000 in taxpayers' money and found nothing," Gillen said. "They are trying to justify the expense."

He said the report's draft "was an embarrassment," with more than 100 errors that had to be corrected. Gillen also pointed to an earlier state comptroller's audit of Metroplex, which he said found no improper spending or misplaced money.

Guess Gillen didn't realize that the Gazetto will buy his faulty, made-up numbers but the State is a bit more savvy.

Yuck, can't be easy cleaning the egg off his face after this fiasco. I don't believe the State is quite done with Mr. Gillen yet.....better hurry up with those condos...there's a storm coming in!!!!

His nit wit defenses are really funny. "It's all lies"-lol. Guess he thinks he can lie about State auditors like he does with the County sheeple. When's the first national retailer opening Downtown? When is the County building moving to the old Trustco on Erie? What up with the million dollar sinkhole Gillette House? ROTFLMAO!! The second smallest County in the State needs seven separate economic development failures. Keep the implosion/shell game going! Nobody will say nuthing except Gov Cuomo. In one week Death Ray and his buddy Karl both get their briskets steamed. It doesn't get better than this.

So all of the millions of dollars in over a decade and not even 1900 jobs!!!!! And this surprises exactly WHO???? I mean really....anyone with even a half a brain and some common sense KNEW the boasting from the plex, stratton, savage, gillen...and the rest of the crew was nothing but LIES!!! Not to mention that the plex was created to also lower property taxes...NOT!!!

If we haven't said it once we must have said it a million times that THE METROPLEX IS AN EPIC FAILURE!!!!

And while the ABO is at it....perhaps they should research the plex's 'bid process'!

Someone here said that the jobs figures were all made up BEFORE the election. Who dat? Now the State auditors totally agree. The TU has the phony jobs figures and is going over them for further investigations. It's a shell game, its a web of lies and Gov Cuomo's going to end this charade. Because everyone here has been looking the other way for 10 years while $100 million disappeared.

I beg to differ! I predict that Cuomo will do sh!t!!
Remember that it was cuomo who found patronage jobs for Savage and Stratton, the two biggest cheerleaders (2nd to the gazetto and gillen) regarding the lies of the metroplex.
Cuomo would come up with egg on his face if he even attempts to end the charade!!

I believe it is these arrogant statements that will come back to bite Gillen.  The $100,000 spent was probably due to the state wasting its time asking for information multiple times.  I don't think Cuomo can allow a B1tch slap like this to occure.  Egg or no egg.

Metroplex Chairman Ray Gillen fired back, however, saying his staff made all files available and that the New York State Authorities Budget Office was trying to justify the expense of its review.

Gillen defended Metroplex fees to its industrial development agencies, saying it is the authorities office's fault because of all the reports it requires. If Metroplex didn't exist, someone would have to be paid to do that IDA paperwork. "(The state) should be lauding us and holding us up as a model," Gillen said. "You can't hire a government employee for $24,000 with benefits."

I believe that cuomo was AG when folks were screaming for an audit. I know for a fact that folks contacted cuomo's office. What was the result of that???

Sorry.......but I think that cuomo will not move forward on this. Oh he may slap their wrists.....only to have all of the agencies under the metroplex authority.

Hell....wasn't it tedisco (r) who approved the metroplex's bond increase??

I would love to see the metroplex desolved......but I wouldn't hold my breath!!

Tedisco, Amedore and Farley the Greater all approved of it... due to the fact that it reigned in the board to have more stipulations, and that did SO much to fix it.  Yeah... OK.

An inveterate and compulsive liar.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
