Have to agree here. This guy ran the Parker Inn into the ground even WITH millions in taxbreaks, grants and no-interest Metroplex loans. All the hype over the Proctors 'millions' they brought with the Lion King couldn't save this over-priced hotel.

BTW, I apologize for an earlier post - I thought these apartments were closer to Downtown when they are two doors down from the Union Inn Bar and a block from Little-Failed Italy. Funny how McCarthy slammed Hull in the last election for taking Seward off the taxrolls, and here is the Plex doing the same thing down the street.

They won't be. Another Metrograft ripoff. No one wants any condos/apartment/housing Downtown. The basics are missing. One leg of a stool. The Lion King actually hurt the hotel because of agreeing to room discounts to raise the pathetic occupancy rate. Same crap at the empty movie theatre and empty coffee house. Residential development in downtown

Last week, Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority announced that work will soon begin on a $3.1 million, upscale residential development in downtown Schenectady.

The plan is to replace a vacant lot and boarded up building with new townhomes, at the corner of Union and Barrett Streets. The project developers are Chris Maddalone and his partner Charles Rosenstein; the team recently built seven new homes in Schenectady, as well as renovations on several area residential properties.
