Why did the local officials decide to call this woman a prostitute to begin with? Does she have a police record indicating that? They MUST be aware that the term "streetwalker" is a synonym for prostitute when they used it. I can only assume it was to make her look like the culprit and/or dehumanize her so that the driver (Mrs. Dagostino) could look in the right, or above culpability. If she had run over a hooker, people would tend not to care as much I assume, perhaps that was the thinking when they carefully formulated that statement down at city or county democrat HQ. In any event that is your local dictatorship for you.

Thank you to those who have responded accordingly.  As far as "Hamburg" is concerned, I really pay no attention bloggers who hide behind pseudonyms to spout off venom.  My sister is not a streetwalker in whichever fashion one wishes to define the word.  A poor choice of words by the editorial staff of the Schenectady Gazette. She attempted to cross the street directly in front of her home on her way to choir rehearsal at Woodlawn Reformed Church.  To play it out any other way to protect a 76 year old woman (connected or not) does not change that fact.  The little old lady was probably not looking where she was going, if she could see at all.  My sister didn't have a chance to get to the other side of the street.  Only my sister (who remains in a coma), Ms. Teresa Dagostino and God knows what truly happened that night.  The police report and news reports are merely supposition based on the driver's account of what occured.  The driver, although she might be praying and upset, is the one at fault as she is the one who was behind the wheel and should have been in control of her vehicle at all times.

I can only thank God we have First Responders and leaders who will not tolerate fine people like the Dagostinos being abused at the hands of the right wing bullies who dominate this board......  The streetwalker was in the wrong place at the wrong time and the fault lies with HER -- OR their would be charges..  Mrs. Dagostino WILL be completely exhonerated.....

Correction for you Ham-burglar, NYS law states that your vehicle must be under control at all times. Hitting a person is not driving under control. Driver is at fault. What if it was a small child that was in the road what would you say then or if it was your aunt that was hit by a car.

Well, being related to the sheriff (mom?), and a council woman, I have no doubt she will be exhonerated.
