Bumblethru it is so disolutioning.

Stewarts are now so inconsistent and boy are the clerks at Knott Street unfriendly.  Most stores the clerks are friendly.  Maybe it is because of the clientele who knows, that cold NYC attitude.

They never give you the register receipts either.  Many times I buy things for friends that can't get out and are in between shopping days.  I have to ask for it and they act like it is killing them. Oh, there was a clerk there recently that I think may be temp from another store.  Never saw them before, they put the cash receipt in the bag and that night I was picking up somethingfor a friend milk and bread etc.

One night they had a sign up saying they needed ones and fives.  I had some, so living nearby I went home and got them.  Gosh, I got a very curt thank you, not even a small smile, she exchanged the money then she turned and walked away.  Left a sour taste in my mouth for sure!!

I came across a really nice one on Rt 2 just before you cross the Hudson.  It was the Monday after Thanksgiving and I think the clerk knew I was not a regular he asked me how my Thanksgiving went and the store was immaculate.

Cel, I must say this about the Nott Terrace Stewart's -- the clerks who work during the day time are much friendlier than the ones who work at night   --- but  there is no excuse for the clerk at night treating you so curtly.

I would like to see what happens when a man or woman of another ethnic group who believe in covering their heads....

refuse to comply.....and also to use bathroom facilities.....seems like we are slowly being put on the back burner...

I guess people will have to carry depends with them, carry a 9mm gun, bullet proof vest.....armored vehicle.....and pray

that we can make it thru the day....

God bless AMerica....

Would DVR have to leave his hair at the door?

Cel,
Trustco on Brandywine is my bank, nice manager and tellers : )  I wonder if all the Trustco's say to remove any head item?

As for Stewarts on Nott Terrace many times have seen people who have been told to go next door to the hotel.  I thought any establishment that serves food must have a restroom for patrons also?

I go to that Stewarts alot and it has gone downhill. Empty coffee pots, place very dirty. The staff has changed and not so friendly anymore. There used to be a guy there that would try and shortchange everyone, I never asked for receipts until I caught on to him, he was adding items on to the reciept that I hadn't bought, double scanning. I did talk to corporate he is no longer there. I count myself lucky if I'm not hit up for money when I go to walk in.

Actually - there are similar signs at other banks in other communities.   I will not post the name of my bank -- but that bank's branch in a very affluent area of New England requires all people to take off hats and sunglasses.

I would give corporate a call, Cel, and tell them of your unpleasant experience.
I've seen those dopey signs in other banks. "Would Be Bank Robber Thwarted by Sign!" Have we ever seen that headline? Add it to the list of dumb ideas that make dumb people believe they are "safe".

The Stewart's on Nott Terrace may have a rest room -- but they do NOT let the public use it.   And I was only concurring with Cel's observation -- that some Stewart's do NOT let the public use the rest room facilities.

If you don't like the truth -- that really is your problem.

Not saying employees are not nice at Trustco they were very nice to me when I had to take care of some business and it wasn't even their bank.  Just I was so surprised at the sign.

I did not say they did not have one, I said they wouldn't let me use it. Neither did any other business around there. Getting to be bad neighborhood.

Don't don't try to play that attitude with me missy you need to get a grip on life.  Geez, if all you have to do all day is call Stewarts to check it out I feel sorry for ya.

My understanding is that if a place sells food -- like Stewart's does -- it must have a public restroom.  I also know that many of the Stewart's stores do NOT allow the public to use the public restroom --- but certainly if you call the corporate office they will say that every store has a public restroom.  I would not expect Stewart's to admit over the phone that they are technically breaking the law.
