Schenectady fire displaces 16 tenants

SCHENECTADY — Sixteen tenants of a building were displaced but escaped injury and two city firefighters suffered minor injuries after a blaze erupted Tuesday in the kitchen of a downstairs apartment, Deputy Chief Michael Gillespie said.

Gillespie said the three or four tenants inside the North Fuller Street building were fleeing the structure when fire crews arrived after receiving the emergency call around 12:30 p.m.

They arrived to find the tenants being assisted by cadets from the nearby Zone 5 training academy, said Gillespie. It is good that no civilians were injured in this blaze, but according to reports 2 firefighters suffered minor injuries

when is this person going to talk reality....you know....that's just what happened at the Rotterdam Sr Center.....and no one

cared....this person was probably part of the problem...

Thank goodness that no one in the apartments were hurt...but bless the firemen who were....they do a dangerous job everyday

and should be praised each time they go to a fire....no politics involved with our heroes...they are just doing their job...and a

damn good one...
