There are so many delicious classic dishes which you can order at La Dolce Vita.... I would recommend it to all. In order to have a dining experience that is the stuff dreams are made of -- I have a secret eatery in another state -- yet not far at all. That is all I will say on it for now.

One of my favorite dining experiences was eating at a new restaurant -- it variety of items on the menu.   I hope to invite some lucky Rotterdamians to join me for

I would still say that my favorite Italian restaurant of all times is --- Trattoria Rustica in Pittsfield, MA.  They serve a wider variety of truly authentic Italian dishes.  By this I mean the types of food actually cooked and eaten by Italian people in Italy for centuries .. and NOT the market-driven American version of what they SELL as Italian food.

BTW -- Most people are not aware that  any dish with the term  "parmigiana" is as authentically Italian as fortune cookies are authentically Chinese.  Chinese fortune cookies were invented in America by Japanese immigrants -- and there is one claim that they were invented in Brooklyn by a Jewish immigrant -- but there is virtually no evidence that fortune cookies were invented in or ever popular in China.    In fact, it was only at the time of the Beijing Olympics that restaurants in China began serving fortune cookies and they refer to them as "American fortune cookies".

The chef at Trattoria Rustica closes the restaurant each year for 2 or 3 months so that he can travel to Italy and constantly keep updating himself on AUTHENTIC Italian cuisine.  The proof is in the truly exquisite dishes that he prepares and serves at his most wonderful restaurant,

History   The dish is claimed by both Campania and Sicily. While "parmigiana" usually means "from Parma" (in Northern Italy), the dish is not part of the cuisine of Parma. It is a Southern Italian dish.
