One goal is to keep people out of expensive nursing homes for as long as possible.
And this is yet another reason why schenectady will not and should not venture into the nursing home business, cause they won't be in existence, as they operate now, in the very near future. The changes are already being made at the fed level. Hospitals will be utilized for surgeries and emergencies. Nursing homes...aka medical homes....will be utilized for short stay/recuperation or extended stay patients. And the elderly will remain at home for as long as they possibly can...or until the government deems differently. |

Talk about the pot and the kettle!!!
Your DEM buddies in the City have put such an AWFUL tax burden upon the elderly in Schenectady, they should be kicked out of their elected seats. Why do you think that those people on a fixed income are complaining at council meetings and put Vince Riggi in charge....because they cannot afford the taxes.
Thought it was interesting, one of the school in Warren County increased their taxes to $15 per thousand of assessed value - the taxpayers are hopping mad. Wonder how they'd feel in Schenectady where it's $40 per thousand...... |

Tech DOESN'T STOP THE AGING PROCESS.....and....neither do hospitals, nursing homes or family.......
we can stop the develpement of a fetus but we cant stop aging
this change from nursing home to staying home has been going on for 20years......dont blame Obama...the railroad ties have been being laid for 20years.....the boomers got to use the system as it was and now the boomers will live in a different system.....
we cant afford ourselves....MEDICINE IS NOT NEED TO CARE FOR FOLKS WHO WET THEIR PANTS AND HAVE ALZHEIMERS.....YOU DONT NEED TO PAY A NURSE OR AN AIDE TO WIPE UP POOP AND PEE......
that's called fluff and stuff service.....
where I work the families cant deal and freak out over a lost sock....really?.....REALLY?.....NO REALLY???.......the elder cope fine, it's the family that doesn't...... |

Tea-Partiers/NNTPers will keep the elderly out of nursing homes by taking away their through food and shelter .. and letting nature take its course.
And the statists like DVOR will continue to sell the lie that only through government can the elderly get food and shelter. They will continue to push the lie that we need a strong centralized government to hold society together by forcing you to use a government system, and that without the state, people would kill off their parents and grandparents by taking away food and shelter. They perpetuate the lie that people cannot organize and care for the aging without the threat of violence by the state to force people to participate in a government system. It's this type of propaganda that would make Joseph Gobbels proud. |

Dr. Donald Berwick
Obama has doubled down on his unpopular Obamacare. The President ducked Senate confirmation and instead used a recess appointment to make Dr. Donald Berwick administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Berwick will be responsible for implementing portions of Obamacare. CMS has an annual budget of some $800 billion and is responsible for the heathcare of 100 million Americans.
Conservatives are angry that the President used his extraordinary power to avoid a public hearing, which would have generated testimony from Dr. Berwick and may have exposed him as being too extreme to run CMS.
Berwick’s public statements often raise eyebrows. Regarding end-of-life care, he told the Annals of Internal Medicine in 2002 that “most people who have serious pain do not need advanced methods, they just need the morphine and counseling that have been available for centuries.” This troubling statement doesn’t give much confidence to seniors that, as a bureaucrat, Berwick will care about costly end-of-life treatment when rationing Obamacare’s “benefits.”
The doctor also professed his love for Britain’s Socialist healthcare system and favors a single-payer government-run system for Americans. He wrote in 1996 that “I admit to my own devotion to a single-payer mechanism as the only sensible approach to healthcare |

'hippy think'.....and every time it's used, a small portion of personal responsibility and rational think and sufficiency is given away to systems......shame shame shame |

end of life care as we so eloquently use the term as a podium puck, is exactly what he is saying......place in the government's hands and it becomes DEATH BY GOVERNMENT....dont let it become a system that owns you..... just say no to government....it's a bad bad bad drug....... the Reavers are waiting in the wings |
