A man was shot as he left Algaitha Grocery at 1814 Watt Street this evening. He realized he was shot in the arm and got to Ellis Hospital. SPD quickly responded to a call for shots fired on Watt Street.

Sometime today, reported by Channel 6.

Uh oh, I shouldn't have said that.   DV says these things don't happen, we don't know the facts.   I guess it was a misinterpretation by the police dept when some kids were playing video games, they took the game system to the hospital

Man shot in arm outside grocery
BY BETHANY BUMP Gazette Reporter

SCHENECTADY — A city man was shot in the arm Tuesday afternoon as he left a Watt Street grocery store.
The victim, who is in his 30s, but whom police declined to identify, told officers he was walking out of Algaitha Grocery, located at 1848 Watt St., about 5:20 p.m. and heard gunshots. He then realized he had been shot in the arm and transported himself to Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
“The victim didn’t really know what happened,” said Schenectady police spokesman Sgt. Adriel Linyear.
Linyear said it is not clear whether the victim or a friend drove him to the hospital and that the victim was “not very cooperative” with police.
The man’s injury is not considered life-threatening, Linyear said.
Police are looking for two suspects, described vaguely as men in dark, hooded sweatshirts. Linyear said they drove away in a vehicle, but police had no description of that vehicle.
Police initially learned of the incident through calls from area residents about shots fired in the 1800 block of Watt Street.

Thank God we have a law enforcement "expert" as acting Mayor. He already did a job pulling the last police presence from Hamilton Hill. And his unique solution to the pit bull/gang explosion-call a postman. We don't need no qualified administrator.

Everybody seems to be missing the point here. This is the dumbed down, drug ridden, scum society that the democops have created. This society is so dumbed down that they don't have the brains or common sense to see the corruption from their government. The city government can actually get away with 'anything' legal or otherwise. And that is just the way the city government wants it!!

Keep printing those lucrative welfare checks. It's a created national societal shift that has been in the making for decades that benefits the democops. This created dumbed down society is growing at alarming rates. And the city court system is supporting this society with plea deals hence lack of punishment. So the scum are back on the street in record time.

Pitbulls are being handled by POSTAL WORKERS, shooters, drug dealers, prostitutes, robbers and even traffic violations are considered the norm in the city.

But hell.........at least there is proctors!!

another lie -- since the office that the Mayor transferred to City Hall did NOT have police officers staffing it

Well why didnt he have a few police officers staffing it? That would make too much sense.  Putting more police in the high problem areas.  Duh!

I think the takeaway from this story is that I think you might want to look in the mirror.  You might have been shot in the head a few years ago and didn't realize it.  Better check it out. Seems to be getting worse.

Putting police officers BEHIND A DESK in an office collecting fines from traffic violations would have been a waste of taxpayers money.    Mayors Stratton and McCarthy would rather have police officers OUT IN THE FIELD solving and preventing crime not sitting behind a desk.

Now let's see the Nayboobs response to these FACTS -- because the Nayboobs obviously didn't know all the facts before they started blowing hot air out their back sides.

It was the police department traffic office. That's not a police presence? It should have been made a full service SPD substation. But the joke acting Mayor is closing it sell to sell between $40,000 and $100,000. He said the City has several buyers? lol. Like the Mt Plesant fire house? Bethesda House or Inner City Ministry interested? This will sit empty like dozens of buildings on Albany St. Before the DEM morons imploded the City Albany St had a business district even a ski shop-where Roger Hull bought skis.

Since when do you DEM morons care about saving taxpayer any money? Right when you want to stop a count in the Mayor's race before all ballots are counted. The DEMS refuse to properly fund Animal Control even after a poor lady is almost killed. Another area of alleged savings is the SS Savage County Home. This according to the DEM lying slime mailers "will not cost taxpayers a PENNY". $15 MILLION is not a penny in their bizzaro world. So what if Federal and State aid have been slashed. This project to help unions/contributors must proceed at all costs.

It did NOT have police officers staffing it. It has employees of the Traffic Division who were responsible for collecting fines on traffic tickets working there. ------------  If you can't comprehend that -- I am sure that we can get some 2nd graders to put on a sock puppet show and explain it to you.

You hang out with a lot of second graders?  Maybe you could borrow a few from Scotsgod08?

Police traffic is still a police presence. DUH!! He sold himself as a law enforcement expert. Can't even solve the pit bull issue. Call the post office-great solution. Guess he looks better from the suburbs. The further the better.
