But they probably won't go to GU site to build becuase according to DVOR, without sewers, no business can thrive or wants to be on Hamburg.

No one cares what the DEM sock puppets say. They are wrong about everything. They should get real jobs are the City s*** plant instead of writing columns about bulls***.

I would like to see Shoprite knock the Golub people squarely on their collective A**ES and drive them into Federal Bankruptcy Court as soon as possible........ The whole the Democratic Party would cheer this on!

Your DEM buddies were taking photo ops with the Golubs when the Nott Street building was built. Stratton couldn't wipe the smile off his face.

Now you want them bankrupt? Scared they'll be back in four years helping to wipe the floor with the DEMS? Maybe??? Just a little???

It's okay to be scared.

Shop Rite is moving in the area like a steam roller. Nisky, Albany, Colonie and next stop.....perhaps rotterdam? The old grand union in rotterdam would be a perfect location!!! Hope they choose to move in. Then Hamburg street folks can share the foot traffic from Altamont Ave.

Oh God, please no.

The former GU is way too small for a Shop-Rite, both the building itself and the parking could never accomodate shoppers.

Whatever does come however, MUST be done at their own expense.   Homeowners must NEVER be expected to foot the bill for private business.  Homeowners lose their homes when they don't have the financial ability to keep up payments.   Businesses in Schenectady these days -- the government seems to think it's fine to bail the businesses out using the taxpayers (homeowners) money even if it means more people lose their homes.   Does business then step in and help those who lose their homes?   HELL NO!

Ask the cricket guy. They will screw him for the weed and seed maven. She did more to prop up a total fiscal disaster. Besides, she spied on the Alliance Party at early meetings and lied to the Rev's on the Hill.

That would be a great idea, or the idea for something at the Burdeck St / Rt 7 intersection would be good.  The only other place that I can think right away is at the former proposed location of the Wally World at Triangle 13, Burdeck St @ Princetown Rd @ N. Thompson St.  It would bring more long-time jobs than building a bunch of apartments there, along with raising the land value from its current state, and giving the people on the west side someplace to do their grocery shopping, something they haven't had the opportunity to do since P&C closed at 5 Corners.  There could possibly be enough room down where the hotel / motel used to be on Old Duanesburg Rd on the Burdeck Street side of the Thruway.

It may be that past administrations did not oblige the west side of Town because of the Golub Corp...OR THAT MORE OF
THE DEMS LIVE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN.

another mistake...either Rep or Dem...they were supposed to build their corporate offices on Dunnsville/Duanesburg Rd.
residents were bought out with one person holding back....look at that now....vacant...but down the street 24/7 truck
entrance.

Golub chose to leave Rotterdam with their corporate offices for Schenectady....THEY GOT A BETTER DEAL.it's time to rethink
having business at the west end of Town.....Hannaford has a place in Duanesburg...

More competition and would draw customers from further west....BUILD UP THE WEST SIDE....ENOUGH OF 300K - 400K SUBDIVISIONS AND  an OVERABUNDANCE OF APARTMENTS.....

RETHINK ROTTERDAM....

Just be careful what you'se wish for. A shop rite would be perfect at the old gu location. But remember that the gateway to the city/slum/scum is both on the other side of Hamburg street AND across from walmart(crane). The foot traffic from altamont ave will certainly flow through coldbrook to get to hamburg. And the other gateway on the other side of hamburg will see it's share of taxi's heading in.

And coldbrook will be sandwiched between them both!

But hell....at least hamburg street will be guaranteed a bus line for the seniors then!!!

Again......be careful what you'se wish for!

Then common sense would be it on the west side of Town and start building up that corridor for business....thus, attracting

consumers from other areas.....and it would be away from the "scum" of Walmart and far enough away from the Rotterdam Mall...

Keep the DEM implosion going! Petta's can fill the non existent void when Cornell's is padlocked by State Tax. Make sure to give Death Ray a big bonus for his great leadership down there- lol.

Another non planner heard from. Metrograft has tried to build on mud and is shocked when everything collapses. The Mayor elect was laughed at saying how great Downtown is. You can't buy a mop. You can't buy shoes. But you can get an overpriced watery drink. Ahh, renaissance-paid for by the oppressed County taxpayer. Got tax increases?
