McCarthy would build a fence around City Hall with underground tunnels to Proctors if he could.

Fact is, he could care LESS about the neighborhoods.

He's clearly redlining.

If I was a homeowner/taxpayer in the city, I'd be demanding the city require that it be sold for market value, that is, what the CITY claims is it's market value.   The city, just months ago, certified that this property is worth $117,400.

So WHY would they sell it for as low as $40,000???????

Of course, this is just more proof that the spending of taxpayers money for downtown has NOT imp;roved the city, not when the city merely says it "hopes" to sell a property at roughly only 30% of what it is valued!!!!!!

Obviously an admission by the city of the DRASTICALLY PLUMMETING property values in the city, THANKS to blowing the TAXPAYERS' money on downtown.

To anyone who plans to grieve their assessment in 2012, they should save this news clipping.

The Hill's been redlined for decades. But now the only police presence is yanked. Disgusting. Who is the buyer Landslide lined up? Metrograft or Inter City Ministry? Putting it back on the tax rolls? ROTFLMAO!! Anyone that thinks things are improving should check out the food bank where the old Trading Port was. They will be the only one interested in this. For One dollar.

Closing Sch’dy Traffic Division building a mistake

Re Nov. 29 article, “City’s traffic division to move to City Hall”: The Traffi c Division closing is disappointing in many ways.
First, although there are no offi cers stationed at the building, there are often officers there. I have seen many patrol cars there. As a business owner on [Albany Street] for over 20 years, I see it as our city further abandoning the area. Each election season all the politicians talk about community policing and putting more officers on the street.
Why not turn the building into a substation for uniformed officers to do just that? Response times would improve. It is a perfect spot for this. Years ago we had a police substation operating just up the street.
According to the article, “[Public Safety Commissioner Wayne] Bennett doesn’t think the area will receive any less policing; because the building didn’t bring any more, so it shouldn’t change anything.” Well, let’s change something and make the building useful with more policing in an area of our city that needs it!

This moves saves the city money and does NOT lessen the police presence in that neighborhood.  Great decision on the part of Mayor McCarthy -- let's move on to the next issue.

A business owner that owns property in the City disagrees with DVR/SG/GG? What a shocker! This should have been made a police substation for quicker response times to Hamilton Hill. Everything does not have to centralized Downtown. The alleged sale proceeds are laughable. Another empty building lining Albany St. Maybe a nonprofit can buy it with our tax money to keep it off the City tax rolls? As long as its not Union College.

Something tells me that the move is for another reason. Why would they move them to City Hall out of all places?  Do they want to focus more on ticketing around City Hall  (Isnt that were the people who get tickets pay).  Doesnt the budget show an increase in expected fines?  Are they afraid of continuing to send all the people (who were ticketed while shoping downtown) to pay their tickets up in that area?  Will the traffic police be working with Code Enforcement.  Does McCarthy want more of a police presence in City Hall?  It isnt about cutting costs.  Since when did they care about that.

I don't think that the folks who worked in that facility wanted to work in that area any more.

I suppose you are going to try to say that YOU are not the one making personal attacks -- and that all you do is state your opinion and respond respectfully.   But it is obvious that you are a  hypocrite and a BULLY.

The reason Joe Bxr is not a bully is that he has NO POWER UNLIKE RON SEVERSEN WHO IS A TIED IN MEMBER OF THE STATE, COUNTY AND TOWN REGIME WITH DIRECT TIES TO THE TAXING AUTHORITIES, CODE AUTHORITIES AND THE POLICING AUTHORITIES. RON SEVERSEN CAN MAKE A PERSON'S LIFE MISERABLE WITH A FEW PHONE CALLS AND REGULARLY MAKES VEILED THREATS  CALLING FOR POLITICAL DISSENTERS AND OPPONENTS TO BE IMPRISONED AND DRIVEN OUT OF TOWN. NOW THAT IS AN OPPRESSOR AND A TYRANT WHO HAS POWER OVER PEOPLE AND LIKES TO COME HERE TO FLAUNT IT. THAT IS A BULLY! RON SEVERSEN HAS EVEN BRAGGED ON THIS FORUM ABOUT HIM MAKING "A FEW WELL PLACED PHONE CALLS" TO THREATEN A LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSMAN BECAUSE HE HAD A SIGN UP FOR A NON-DEMOCRAP NON-INCUMBENT> NOW THAT IS A BULLY.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Ineffective bully.  He's just trying to play the part because cyberspace is safe (he thinks).  Would absolutely NEVER say the same things to any of us in person.

This was never a 'police presence' office. It was manned by civilian city/county employees!! Proof of that is ..... the Hill is still one of TWO black holes in the city. Drugs and shooters are still rampant. This 'building' made no difference what so ever!!

Would anyone want to work there unprotected? Most wouldn't!

Actually, you attacked me first -- when you couldn't admit that I was right about  large commercial growers of produce who  pick produce early and then ripen them with gas -------------- and I did show you proof and since then I have seen ADDITIONAL reports on this very subject.

You are also one of the ones who persists in perpetuating the lie that I post under more than one usrname --   I don't --- and I will NOT allow you or your bully-thug brothers accuse me of posting something that Scotsgod or GravelGertie or Smoking Bananas post.

IMHO---  Scotsgod, GravelGertie and Smoking Bananas are worse  assholes than the nayboobs.  They are trying to pass themselves off as someone they are not -- and make extremely nasty and often stupid comments.  I am pretty sure I know who GravelGertie is -- and as far as I am concerned he can go screw a syphilitic hamster.

And if you and your ilk insist on attacking  me and my family -- I am NOT going to sit there and take it -- I will give it back 100 fold.

It's okay.....I know the truth and facts and that's what counts. You are nothing but a pathetic blip in cyberspace. If you think I will back down from you....sadly mistaken. Enjoy your day
