And yet they still will tell everyone that proctors is 'saving' the city!!! Just ask the working, taxpaying residents (if there are any left).

Proctor's brings people with money -- INTO the city and county -- where they SPEND the money thus helping increase sales tax revenue and helping local business owners.

It really is simple to comprehend.

It is not generating business around it!  The Parker Inn, Parisi's &  Cornells All OUT OF BUSINESS!   The Parker Inn was right there.  Had the best chance to succeed based upon what you are saying.  Free Advertisement.  Everything, yet failed.  Come On!

The real truth is the people come into the city to see a show at Proctors and when the show is over they can't get out of the city fast enough.

Nayboobs like Senders will never have anything positive or valuable  to post -- and thus will never do anything positive and valuable to help their community or - for that matter - the world.   IMHO  -they just take up space and use up resources (like oxygen) which should be saved for those who will actually be of benefit to the planet --- and not a bunch of eternally-negative parasitic leeches like the nayboobs are.

HEY....jailbait.....this is a positive post,,,TO YOU.....like you said...you don't know who I am....nor do you know what I do.....

BTW,,,I venture in the city FREQUENTLY....was there Wednesday night frolicking......a jewel? not....a foundation? not.....a fun park? sure after you drink enough tequila to tolerate it.....

I know what's there........but our leaders tossing a chew-bone to the taxpayers DOESN'T FIX THE CONTRACTS/COLAS/PENSIONS/TAXES LEVIED OR THE TAX RATE.........

I may have tequila coursing through my veins, but it's on fire........

Sales tax revenue.   DANG IT DV.....WHEN WHEN WHEN WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO LEARN?????????????    People pay taxes to the county in which they live!!!!!!!!  NOT NOT NOT to Schenectady !!!!!

Now, I will clarify a part of that,  Buy a burrito, yeah, the FEW PENNIES will probably stay in Schenectady, however, collectively it doesn't even remotely come close to the tens of millions the taxpayers were robbed of to fund the socialist businesses.

Now, tell us DV, WHAT benefit has downtown been to the homeowners in the city?????????????    Tell us how downtown what the effect has been on the property and school tax BILLS of the homeowners.   And tell us what has been the effect on property values.

Well??????    Well?????

So, DV, are you going to reply with another response that you aren't going to respond to my questions rather than actually answering the questions?   Are you going to avoid answering my questions because if you told the truth, then you would have to admit that the downtown has done NOTHING for the residents and neighborhood, so, instead you'll just pull you're usual stupid response.

They can't afford any tickets-unless they get freebies like the DEM friend and family club. When confronted with facts the DEMS resort to calling you a liar or saying you are too negative and every other nearby city is as bad. Proctor's is a total failure. They flatly refuse to pay ANYTHING for the city pool program, to feed the hungry or to repay the County taxpayers. They also take other businesses off the City tax rolls. Death Ray should have been fired for steering Key Bank to Fat Morris. CBS-6 had a piece about Carl's which is now Proctor's coffeehouse/Black box. It should be renamed the black hole. Carl's generated sales tax revenue-Proctor's generates debt.

My resources have paid for everything that I have, too.   And just because you don't recognize the FACTS when they are put out there by me -- is your problem -- not mine.

I've yet to see ONE fact, backed up by evidence or proof, that you've contributed to this forum.

Please, feel free to cite one fact - backed up with undisputable proof ... go ahead, I'll wait.

Since you are the one making the accusation -- you provide the undisputable proof that what I have posted is NOT factual.

Gifts, Grants & Contributions          Gross Reciepts from Services     Gross Income from Investments

1997           1,233,098                                             4,249,345                                    72,671

So, Metroplex is giving over DOUBLE to TRIPLE the handouts to Proctors and the Proctors ticket sales are going down by 3 million (1997 - 4,249,345 and 2009 - 1,348,626).

If Proctors was a private company, it would have changed things or most likely CLOSED LONG AGO!! No private business can keep afloat with these numbers and it's not hard to conclude that the taxpayers are supporting this obviously failing theater.

There is a very clear line between 'supporting' the arts and a government dependent institution. Proctors is clearly not working. Morrris should be replaced, all Plex funds should be frozen and the Theater needs a clear business plan in place which does NOT include taxpayer handouts.

Thanks again Taking It Back your facts are fantastic! As always, the devil is in the details!!!!!!!
