GE left because the government tells them where they need jobs for one of their pals areas for the grooming of the politico....not to mention the union and it's 'own time table' via work slow downs etc.....NYS likes to 'make friends' with their
electorate via public 'jobs for nothing'.....you can pay folks to sit on their duffs all day then toss 'em to a real job and they cry like little old ladies with arthritis.....that's when they figure out their virtual value is vested in their
elected buddies.....their value is not their own....

The City is going down the toilet and the joke acting Mayor takes over the pollution plant. His only interest is adding more City employees to the bloated payroll. And no one says nuthin. The DEM cheer leaders clap like under Stalin. No one dares be the first to sit down. The music stopped and there aren't enough chairs. In 4 years there will be nothing left but bankruptcy.

Mr. Cermak is way off-base --- as usual. He is a negative reporter with nothing good to say about Schenectady..... my sources tell me he is a hack for the Nayboobs.

I never said that Marv Cermak was a hack -- I just question the numbers that he cites for GE's employment levels in the late 1980's.  Now -- Carl Strock is a hack .. IMHO.

The governments in both Rotterdam and Schenectady refused to lower the taxes levied on GE which were too high. The unions were greedy and refused to keep salaries/benefits at a level where GE could compete with cheap overseas labor. Large and Small motors went South for cheaper labor and lower taxes. The cost of labor and taxes have forced GE to do business in countries where they can produce products at a competitive price unless they get government subsidies to make up the difference.

But now the demcops are trying to take over where ge left off. They fail to recognize that ge was a PRIVATE entity and they are a PUBLIC one. The democops are trying to support and prop up an economy that is absolutely a FALSE sense of economic security and they are doing it all with the hardworking over burdened taxpayers!!

Private investment/businesses who create and offer jobs and pay taxes ARE what ultimately sustains and supports a community. When government does it it's called socialism.

GE is a tool in global corporate war....not all wars have guns/missles.....
