Remember BS' pandering by his 'historic' appointment of a connected criminal to the planning board? Shows how seriously he took his role as steward of our history. As 'planners' are appointed without any qualifications such as knowledge of architecture, it shows how this kind of blatant stupidity continues. |

That's called DEM morons working together! And about half the idiots were tricked into continuing this crapola. What are Death Rays planning credentials? ZILCH-ZERO-DEM Chair of Nisky. Pack the planning commission tonight. Don Rittner and Gloria need your support against these fraudulent con men. Bravo TIB for bringing this destruction of our history to the public attention. |

The thing about banging your head against the wall-when you stop it feels better. The DEM morons got the government they deserve. Maybe DVR can weigh in on this? Like he did about Denise Brucker taxing his church- lol. |

Show up 6:30 tonight at City Hall. The Metrograft/DEM morons are trying to slide this through under cover of darkness. Tremendous outcry from all blogs. Let's see if they have the nerve to destroy another historic building because Death Ray/McCarthy f***** up again. Let Transfinder take over the old Trustco HQ for $1 or build new at ALCO. Absolutely no reason to demolish this historic gem. Beautiful interior that could not be built today. |

Bottom line is that they are going to demolish and rebuild no matter what!! Why? Because they can and there is absolutely no one to stop them. And the democops do NOT listen to the residents....never did and never will. The democops 'say' they are for the people, ya know....the little guy. And the democops say that the reps are for the rich! What a crock! The dems are worse, historically, then thereps could ever be!!! the dems are suppose to be the 'blue collar' party. That's a laugh! They have catered to the rich while becoming fat cats themselves. They raise the taxes on the 'little man' and throw them a few non-profits and a holiday parade to soften the blow. And the gazetto continues to cheer them on!! If Gary McCarthy, who is a numbnut, gets elected....it's time to move out of the city....or entire county!!! imho of course |

SCHENECTADY Planners approve demolition of historic Odd Fellows Hall BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter
Wreckers await the former International Order of Odd Fellows Hall in the very near future. Members of the city Planning Commission narrowly approved drastic changes to a plan they approved in July, allowing building owner Tony Civitella to demolish the entire structure at 440 State St. Chairwoman Sharran Coppola cast the deciding vote to allow the demolition after members of the commission grappled with the issue for more than two hours Wednesday. The approval will allow Civitella, the president and founder of Transfinder, to immediately move forward on demolishing the entire building. His original plans called for the leveling of the rear of the structure, but to retain the ornate terra-cotta facade and about 20 feet of the building’s front. His proposal is to put $5 million into a modern building to headquarter his software company. Only an engineering report obtained after Transfi nder purchased the building determined there to be no feasible way to preserve the facade, which was described as inseparable from the brick substructure of the building. As a result, Transfi nder altered plans and sought a full demolition and the construction of a new building similar to other modern structures in the city. Commission member Matthew Cuevas had initially suggested the project be tabled for further review. Several other commission members also questioned why Civitella only submitted the drastically altered plans for the project on Monday afternoon. “It’s really a lot to handle in a short period of time,” Cuevas said. .....................>>>>.........................>>>>..................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01303&AppName=1

Pathetic.
Building new crap when the City can't even afford the old crap.
Take back the $60K facade grant...Transfinder reneged on its intent.
Take back the $150K renovation grant...they reneged on this as well. Tearing down is not renovation...it's demolition.
If Transfinders wants to modernize a building, go elsewhere. Stop tearing down some of the only history left. Transfinders only has 50 current employees 'with a promise' to bring 125? Take your empty promises to Amsterdam...they wouldn't give you a DIME of grant money!! |

So who are these idiots who voted for the demolition? We have a empty lot right next to Olenders that could be used. We have 10 empty lots/buildings on Erie Blvd. Just doesn't make sense. It needs to be stopped or it will happen again and again.

Sharon Coppola and 3 DEM dupes pushed this through. How much more are the taxpayers down for? Let them go. Dated technology, liars about jobs, liars about historic preservation. Empty sites up and down State and Erie. Keep the DEM moron progress going! Occupy IOOF Hall. Your Metrograft Authority at work. If anyone complains hang up on them even the Gazetto editors. |

Apparently the historic commission cared about this building (Gloria Kishton voiced her opposition last night).
As well, Proctors used a $40K facade grant back in 2004 for this location.
Transfinder has a $60 K facade grant. That should be revoked. |

Sorry idiot plenty of people care about historic preservation. How come the vote was only 4-3 for demolition? As always you are wrong and this is a wake up call for non-idiots that see DEM progress=lies about rehabbing buildings. Crawl back into the gutter for two years when you can prop up more unpopular DEM politards. What happened to your Goofy? He was suppose to win by 25% according to your crap. |
