There is an awesome article in the Daily Gazette about the 60th Anniversary of one of Schenectady's finest
restaurants --- Petta's.

Great family -- Great food -- Great service -  CONGRATULATIONS ON 60 YEARS .. here's to at least another 60 years of business.

The little socialist actually supports a business that pays it's own taxes.

Petta's has such great food and service --- it is one of the many diamonds in Schenectady --- an essential part of the continued Renaissance of a wonderful neighborhood in a wonderful city in a wonderful county.

Wonderful neighborhood?    Then explain why you avoid living in such a wonderful neighborhood?     So out of shape he couldn't run fast enough from the front door to the car door trying to dodge bullets.

Wonderful neighborhood?   Explain how a neighborhood where children get shot in daylight on a playground is a wonderful neighborhood----come on DV, explain how that is wonderful

Explain how a wonderful a neighborhood it is when a guy walking home from his Walmart job is beat up so bad he's practically left for dead.   Come on DV, can you answer who that is wonderful.

Explain how wonderful it is when a child can't ride their bicycle up and down in the road on a side street where they live, how is it wonderful when it's too dangerous for children to play on their own front porch!

Hey, DV, you could buy a house for about $10,000 there, less than even a car, and you could get all that money to fix it up (that program McC touted), and with low interest rates, well, tell us WHY you refuse to move into the hill.   Well??????

Duane Ave renaissance? Bring your flak jacket and helmet. For real old school Italiano check out Ferrari's in the middle of the Mt P miracle or the new RJ Ritz Terrace on the Van Vranken Avenue miracle.

My family and I have always preferred Petta's to the other Italian eateries in the city.

There is a difference between traditional "red and white sauce" Italian eateries and Mediterranean style eateries. I would consider Pettas, ferraris and Canalis in the "red and white sauce" group while places like Grappa 72 in Albany and (maybe) Dolce Vida in the Mediterranean group. Not that one is better than the other, but it does get skewed. My favorite "red and white sauce" place is and has been Canalis.

Duane Avenue is HARDLY in a Renaissance! It's a run down, crappy neighborhood with some of the worst streets around it.

The only reason DV posted this is because Petta's is the DEM gathering hall - other than that - DV would probably NEVER go there.

Don't get me wrong I have been to Pettas and would go there again, but to call the surrounded neighborhood as being in Renaissance is a result of not putting down the crack pipe .
