The DOT building, which will house an additional 500 employees, will be located at the corner of State Street and Broadway, providing another source of food and beverage demand in the focus area. This location is extremely important as it introduces these permanent employees directly into the heart of downtown Schenectady. It is impossible to overstate the importance of this location to implement this strategy of using office as a daytime people generator in the core of the downtown area.
