If Mertz were the County GOP Chairman -- the Republican party would not hold a single office ANYWHERE in the county.

As the Gazette will probably not report this, the ballots have begun to be counted in the Mayoral race. According to TU reporter Lauren Stanforth, so far, Hull has gained another 2 votes - now down 74 from McCarthy.

To follow the progress, you can view Lauren's Facebook page as she is updating all the time.

Thanks to Lauren - the people have the ability to know the progress, not just the outcome!

Districs 12, 13 and 15 should help Hull.

If McCarthy wins, the city will dissolve itself.  It maybe already to far gone for Hull to bring it back.  The teat is dry. From the NYS Comproller....The actual property taxes that the city has COLLECTED is going down.  People either arent paying, they are exempt from paying or the tax base is eroded.  The city is also trying to make the case that Water, Sewer and Garbage are going up like crazy when in fact they aren't.

There are a lot of empty houses in the upper Union neighborhood, not foreclosures, just people walked away, I guess. I don't imagine anyone is paying the taxes. If this "good" neighborhood is like that, one can only imagine what other areas of the city are like.
I know someone I'm going to see around Thanksgiving who works in that collecting taxes for municipalities field. I'll see what he knows, if anything, about Schenectady's taxes collected.

But McCarthy has a plan! No not across the board layoffs or spending cuts-have the DEM morons take over foreclosure. Track former residents to the ends of the Earth. If Hull can keep picking up 3 votes per district he can win. Heavy Hull districts like Upper Union and Bellevue have not been counted. If McCarthy the union stooge wins the City will have to file bankruptcy.

Right.  He will waste money chase after people who have vacated their homes becuase they have no money.  Put surcharges on the already insane code "enforcement" fines.  Surcharge a person who incurs a medical emergency.

So true! And a $300 permit to fix your roof. The City DEMS are despicable entitled thugs. What they did Election morning was a new low. Ripped down Alliance signs by the dozens in SUV's and threw them in Union St. McClellan still has Pat signs in the bushes where Lumpy threw them. Then the smear mail and idiotic robo calls. Did you know that Roger Hull is an expert skier? WTF!

I asked a few folks last weekend and this is the answer....ready......'I always vote dem'. THAT'S IT!!!! They didn't have aclue as to why. But on the flip side, We also spoke with a few staunch dems and they are sick and tired of the bullcrap and high taxes and voted Alliance.

either way....the city is clearly divided!

The City is screwed. Hull ran a great race but was let down by many who knew better. Many were afraid of the corrupt DEM machine. A Northside "leader" voted for McCarthy because "things are slightly better". Than what? The same DEM idiot constantly complains about high taxes and incompetents. The Alliance Party candidates other than Riggi were unknown. A great opportunity to take out more trash was missed.
