I personally think that Hull would be the better choice for Mayor. But if he's not, ya gotta lick your wounds and call it a day. It was a hell of a race no matter who wins. However, I, as a taxpayer, and a concerned citizen,  would support and encourage a full recount. It is too close and there were obvious issues. The city is soooo divided that Gary MaCarthy's mayorship will always bein question and not legitimized by 50% of the electorate.

Now the nayboobs have to eat their words and make excuses ...  Roger Hull was supposed to win in a landslide -- they said.     Mayor McCarthy didn't have ANY support -- they said.   Obviously, the chuckle-headed nayboobs were wrong -- as usual.

McCarthy was supposed to win by 25% according to the Gazetto moron here. The DEM machine would sweep again. No one would vote for the Alliance Party. The Alliance party beat all three union parties COMBINED. A thousand votes off the DEM column. Vince Riggi finished second while King and the cricket guy fight over a crying towel. No reason for a recount now that the two idiots have pronounced a winner.

To paraphrase the great Ronald Reagan campaign ad from 1984 ----   It is morning in Schenectady again ... Mayor McCarthy and the Democratic team is hard at work moving the city forward to greater prosperity.

You mean greater taxation? First you need prosperity then greater prosperity. No one who owes any City property agrees with you. 33% of DEMS wisely abandoned your horrible candidate. You can't tax your way out of a hole.

At any rate, it was pretty surprising to me that it was that close.  Wonder how many votes the PILOT issue cost Roger Hull - may well have been the difference.

No need for a recount -- Since the margin didn't change with all of the challenges .. I highly doubt that Judge Reilly will rule to have a recount.   It would just be a waste of time and taxpayer money.
