"Spirited bank protest targets deposits" - Saratoga - 11/06 Gazette.

I endorse 100% doing business with 'local' banks & credit unions, bypassing mega banks as much one can.

A few years ago I moved deposits I had in a hometown bank to another.  The bank manager asked me why, he said he would have to explain to his superiors why.  I suggested he tell his superiors they should not give campaign contributions to politicians who make the laws that cause economic distress.  I doubt he told his superiors.

Bank & credit union 'executives' must be held accountable.  A bank executive hobnobbing with politicians is no friend of the working man nor depositors.

As a depositor you can do little to change the behavior of the mega banks & their relationship with politicians.  You can mold the behavior of 'hometown' bank management.

Every political contribution by a banker is money out of your pocket.  Most golfing outing by bankers with politicians come out of your pocket as a depositor or as a tax payer.  'They' write these things off as job expenses.

Buy local products where available & bank local when possible.

I agree. I have practiced that all my adult life. I use a small bank that has about 5 total branches. It is a good relationship/ I try to do all my buying IN this county, especially when it is a sales taxable item so that the $$ goes into our local coffers to support the tax base (too bad our local scum politicians use it to pad pensions and promote their friends, and to oppress my business) and when I can buy something- anything- I buy as close to possible to home to keep the money local. All my life. Too bad the politicians in the political class don't do the same. They are more concerned that a "republican" might benefit, but they don't realize that 95% of what they spend goes to vendors, employees, and TAXES!!!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
