1. consolidation DOES NOT equal savings
2. the issues in Rotterdam are embedded(in bed)
3. recovery room does NOT constitute living wage jobs
4. the town is covered in bars and churches, no wonder we are dysfunctional
5. you and yours prefer the plastic milk-jug class of developement(because ya'll are aged and ready to retire SOON, so beat feet and get the hell out of here already)

Dont blame ya RVR for coming out in defense of Bafarti since the 'tax warrant' issue hit the airwaves. Can certainly understand that the dems are all in damage control now. However....it's a little too late!! Ya can voice your opinion but ya can't rewrite history. And ya can try spewing rhetoric....but again......a little too late. No one's buyin' it!

the recovery room alone (although the site IS better) does not mean living wage jobs.....a few who manage/owners SURE.....it's a fun place,,,,built for someplace non-townie like for the guests
at the Belvedere....fine....but NOT to have control over the contracts/budget/infrastructure of town is a travesty.....and NOT to have plan of style/patina/class is ALSO a travesty....we can do better

CVS and banks are plastic milk jug quickies........Curry Road barely carries the traffic that is on it every day....still no sidewalks,,,Altamont Ave, crappy buildings still standing and about to fall on
a pedestrian.....bus stops that look like crap.....we need a better plan and a belt tightener.....GE AIN'T HERE TO DO IT FOR US.......sure the hey-days of past did and it didn't matter
who stole/took/fenagled what because everyone was on the upward swing and the river of funds was a rollin'.......here we are in the present and not a clue where to go other than protectionism
for the certain few under contract.....sad sad sad.....

BTW...what gives with our crappy looking RR overpasses.....they get government subsidised $$, so why dont they look all spic and span like.....who's in charge there? another F'EN set of gumbas
and their contracts......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

I go there alot.....and I'm not talking about bankrolling the town....I'm talking about the town having a smart forward moving comp plan that's UPHELD...not pushed aside willy-nilly for a quickie....
I didn't mean to confuse the roads not having sidewalks with Recovery....they are 2 different issues.....I guess I need to make myself clear....the infrastructure needs desparate help....if we keep
willy-nilly planning for quickies for 'buddies' the town will become a sh!thole for those who actually live here....those in florida or where ever they live really dont give a rats A$$ about what they leave
behind.....

take the reigns, make a goal, follow it....keep it classy not trashy.......I dont want nuthin' for free nor do I expect it...but the value of my taxes is what? the future of the town is what? Mont Pleasant?

Are you talking about the Recovery Room?  They were given millions of metroplex and RIDA money and tax breaks, and then ended putting other bars and restaurants out of business or greatly reduced their revenue and income.  Bar and restaurant owners are really getting sick and tired of collecting sales taxes for the county, just to hand it over to Metroplex so the ruling party can prop up a competitor within their industry.

New bricks and mortar isn't wealth creation.  Bars and restaurants are in the service sector, and usually build around productive industries and don't need government money as start up capital.  In free markets, there would first be a market demand(new factory), then venture capitalist would recognize this demand and supply the demand.  In Schenectady County, we have it backwards, we create the service sector in anticipation of productive wealth creation. It's a** backward, but the idiots in Schenectady County equate new bricks and mortar to wealth.

If it doesn't add to the bankroll of the town, it subtracts from it.  Yes, the corner is looking so much better, but in reality, how much more is being collected from this building now?  How much are they paying in taxes vs. the amount the previous building did?  How long until we recover all of the money that the taxpayers sunk into this via grants / lower evaluation rates?

What bar was put out of business? The people I've talked to like it people that used to go elsewhere for dinner and drinks then bars outside the area now go to recovery and bars in town... This does not compete with your real bars or your real restaurants... If anything it picks up the slack of friendlys leaving as it is a family type place

The Recovery Room is a great place for a burger and a beer --  good wings, too.
