Box A Rocks -That's what I do with my leaves...my soil isn't that great to begin with. Heck of a lot easier to mulch them with a mower and give the lawn some food. As for compost, I throw all my organic matter into the pile. Not a big deal as long as you turn it regularly. You cut down what goes to the landfill in half and end up with some good soil to boot.
Hack I have a small (3' X 3') plastic compost bin from Lowes. I fill it with veggi and fruit scraps, coffee grounds and in the fall, shredded leaves. I turn it once a week and water it before it looks dry. It seems to produce some compost in the fall. All winter it just sits there, but in spring the breakdown process is amazing. In a few months the compost goes from clumps of half frozen matted leaf mix, to a very fine soil as if it came from a commercial bag of topsoil. Works great in the garden. |

Who needs organic compost - with all the bullcr@P from politicians (and wannabes, ty DM) in Rotterdam, we've got the best fertilizer, manure. And believe me, they're spreading it thick this year. |

They shouldn't be sold there at all! STUPID IDEA!
Guess they are trying to find something for the folks to do at town hall to keep them busy!
You are right there. Leaf bags should not be sold at Town Hall at all. It takes employee's time away from the real job they were hired for. Receiver Of Taxes wants them there to get her votes and votes only. Do your job as Receiver Of Taxes and not the Bag job. |

they could be used as political signs....
they could be free and each person running for an office can pay to get their name printed on them and then hand them out.....like walmart/lowes/price chopper etc.......
better than those stupid mailers.....
"take these leaf bags, it's my promise to take your old leaves and recycle them for you" |

I actually inquired aboutthat and it HAS been done where they have been printed up with a politician's name! |
| "While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat." |
