Put it up for a referendum and betcha most would vote to close the place!!! The folks that go there apparently are as antiquatedas the building. It appears to be just a handful of gossipy old women and men who go there because perhaps they need a life!!!

Just close it!!!

This is the  story  at the Donut Shop

It was not the seniors that caused this....it had a better reputation when JD ran it...in 2010 the whole picture
changed....everything went amuck.  The conspiracy began ....anything that existed when JD was there was
whittled away....one hour at a time....a day at a time...finally months at a time.

Things were changed and done like no tomorrow....lies tossed around ....it

The seniors are not to blame at all....when they thought they were getting first class treatment, it really
wasn't the truth ....the 2 employees  thought things would get better  ....It was a downright
conspiracy and it became  a runaway train.

Change this change that....fire one...rehire one...harrassment, threats, bullying, allegations of theft....when the atmosphere of happiness stopped...that's when the "gossip" began ....and NOT from the seniors.

Give the seniors credit and not so much negativity....they are great people and should not be put down for the
JEWEL of Rotterdam and what she did to bring the Center where it is today.....it was her platform and her own
personal agenda that caused this....not her work ethics as everyone thinks she has.  From the getco the plan
was to rid the Center of 2 employees, because of their rights as human beings to be treated with respect...and
stand up for their character and reputation.  They had backbone .

Adding, that one employee was accused of working somewhere else, (Fridays had been eliminated) and was
actually tracked and the wrong info given to the TB ..... the TB was brought into it....WHY???

The story that was told at the Donut Shop ...and there is much more...the political part of all this is
incomprehensible....it was only a place where Seniors ate and socialized...what a shame...and that the Pres
of the Sr Assoc went along with all the wrong.   even so far as standing up at  TB meetings  and trashing the 2
employees and at the Sr meetings, with made up allegations and lies.  Yes, grievances were filed...that's a
whole other story...

Even after termination, the atmosphere was tainted , even tho this person was no longer there...it still was a
heavy influence of the goings on .

DON'T PUT THE SENIORS DOWN...THEY WERE LED TO BELIEVE THAT WHAT WAS HAPPENING
WAS THE BEST THING SINCE ICE CREAM.

AMEN

PS   the fraudulent fundraiser just goes to show you..... a plain case of entitlement and abuse of ethics..
the Center belongs to the Town.....and not a token for personal use...

Politics

Then the cheerleaders for increasing taxes on homeowners (or keeping already high taxes high) just want to keep such a center because such cheerleader(s) have no life and expect taxpayers to provide the with their social life, particularly when they don't have a job themselves and wonder if they expect to use such a center when underage

Ah, cheerleaders for consolidation but then become hypocrites when cheering for having a separate Rotterdam senior center.

Yeah, let's see if the cheerleader(s) will provide an item by item comparison to show how much more the Rotterdam center has to offer vs Glenville.  Hmmm.  Don't hold your breath, the cheerleader(s) will NOT provide such a comparison because it would only show how few things there are for seniors in Rotterdam.   And let's see how the cheerleader(s) illustrates how much the Rotterdam vs Glenville center costs taxpayers

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

So...um...couldn't the seniors pool their money and buy a coffee maker? For what the Brass Rail costs every year, they could buy one real nice capucino/espresso maker and enough grounds to last them for half the century. I'm assuming the seniors are spry enough to make coffee if they can get down to the senior center, right?

They are frail and the most vulnerable in our society. In other words if they don't have a clubhouse with a restaurant in it they will all end up left for dead, screwed blue and tattooed.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

don't kid yourself here patchy! These seniors love the bullcrap and gossip that goes on at the antiquated sham! They aren't just well aware....they have allowed themselves to become part of the problem! They aren't quite as 'fragile' as some would believe.
