The Rotterdam Seniors and the Rotterdam Senior Center are BOTH great assets in our town.  The association did a great public service by inviting ALL of the candidates to a candidate forum -- it is just sad that the  "teaparty/GOP" ticket and "Rotterdam's Worst" ticket refused to attend.

The senior center will continue to provide a FULL RANGE of services for years to come AND will -within the next 10 years -  be moved into a brand new  MULTI-GENERATIONAL  TOWN COMMUNITY CENTER.

Try asking for a reps candidate forum. If this was just an 'accidental overlook'.......then I'm sure they would want to level the playing field, be fair and ask the rep candidates to have a forum as well.

I spoke to a senior that attends the center...This senior was upset at the tactic the Democrats used to trick the seniors into believing the Republican candidates didn't want to speak with the seniors.  This person said that it is unbelievable that the Democrat Party would pit the seniors against one another and attempt to create a hostile and political environment at the Center to win an election.  It sound like some of the seniors are seeing through the deceit.

I personally called and confronted the head of the senior association and he said they are welcomed to come to the next meeting but it is after the election! I am not joking. I swear on my dead relatives' graves. He was unapologetic and said "all the candidates were welcomed to attend." I asked him if he invited them and he "no, but everyone knows we have a meeting every month and if they wanted to come and speak they could have just showed up!!!!!"

One can't make this stuff up.

About time that our seniors woke up to the fact that they have been used for personal agenda

No matter what any of the Gentleman's Club plus One states along with other peeps on the blog undermining
the truth.....it's devious, conniving. and hopefully all will understand they have been DUPED bigtime

And the Center is not making money so the burden of the expenses will be on the taxpayers..

Someday is a long ways off...it was supposed to be run to break out even...not so anymore.

Close it and revamp it if necessary and be funded by contributions...Community Center in the future???
There is no "community" in the way that Center is now and how scrupulous it is run by and outside influence
who thinks they have that entitlement.

The Seniors Association is a fine organization and it is a shame that they were slapped in the face by the teabagging Republicans who refused to attend the candidate forum -- ALL were invited and only the Reunite Rotterdam Team CHOSE to attend..My pledge is that he senior center will continue to provide a FULL RANGE of multi-generational services in the future and eventually they will have a BRAND NEW CENTER --since they DESERVE TO HAVE ONE....And NO NAYBOOBS NEED ENTER IT!

I have no contempt toward old people/seniors/retirees or whatever other podium puck name the politicos/AARP want to label them.....

Their FULL RANGE of service include.... GOSSIP, plan trips, take blood pressures, provide soup and sandwiches, exercise, play cards and play pool, SECURITY CAMERAS .............THERE YA HAVE IT!!!

So they can gossip anywhere...wade tours can plan trips...cvs/rite aid provide blood pressure checks........the diner right across the street provides soup and sandwiches..........exercise anywhere........play cards anywhere.....play pool at any baror home!!

That is the FULL RANGE of service that the rotterdam senior center provides at the taxpayer's expense!!!!

Go to the Glenville Senior Center for a FULL SERVICE center!!!!

There are many seniors that are not happy with the center. Looks like the rotterdam democops did a great job of dividing folks even at the senior gossip center...good job! NOT!!!

It will be interesting to see how many 'baby boomers' are attending the rotterdam senior gossip center. I'd have to guess few to NONE!! EXCEPT FOR THOSE WHO 'WORK' THERE.

The boomer ain't gonna join, so it will be a vacant building when this bunch dies off.
