So, panhandlers smack between Brown School and Gibbons, by Pigliavento's and next to the frequented Stewarts Very safe streets in the city, pleasure to live among them, huh?
As more cops are put on leave, there will be fewer on the streets becaue the city has no money for cops to replace those on leave, because the city believes in throwing all the money into dowtown for the low wage, taxpayer subsidized jobs downtown while people still need to leave the city to shop. And remembver, no money for tasers either.

Schenectady police say one of their own is attacked while trying to make an arrest.
They say officers were called to the area of State Street and Cromer Avenue for an alleged panhandler.
When they arrived and tried to take the man into custody, a woman who was with him allegedly attacked the female officer.
They say she became so violent the officer had to subdue her with a taser and then take her into custody.
The officer was treated at Ellis Hospital for a bite wound to her arm and scrapes.
The suspect is still there being treated and is expected to face several charges

Tasers are never to close, in fact tasers once discharged can have the front cartridge removed and used just like a hand held stun gun. Here is a video showing cops using a taser on themselves at a distance no more than 6ft away.

Yup a taser could have been used at the Gazette. Look at how long this guy stayed down. Enough time to disarm someone with a knife. Notice all the tasers now being used in Schenectady the past few days?! HMMMMM
