Plot thickens in candidate's neighborhood
Alliance Party's Hull gets support in his traditionally Democratic neighborhood

By LAUREN STANFORTH Staff writer
Published 12:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011

SCHENECTADY -- Grand old houses line the blocks of the GE Realty Plot. But this season what's more noticeable are the political signs that dot their lawns -- largely a sea of maroon supporting mayoral candidate Roger Hull.

What has often been a bastion of Democratic support now appears to be siding with Hull and his Alliance Party, which is backed by city Republicans....................>>>>............>>>>..............Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/loca.....25.php#ixzz1aTE86y18

The once solidly DEM GE Plot is all for Roger Hull. Like every other City neighborhood. They no likey the highest taxes and double garbage tax. Force the City employees to put up ten more Mcsigns.

My great neighbor is selling his house at a very, very low price. He takes pride in his home, he even sweeps the street when there is broken glass (which is everyday)  One day he's out there and some were calling him an Uncle Tom

I knew he wanted to move out of Sch'dy County guess he's going to do it and I wish him well.

Gotta get outta this place.

We were with some folks this past weekend who are looking to buy a home. Someone suggested Schenectady since the cost of homes are so low. None of them would even entertain that idea. Their reason.........high taxes and crime!! And they also knew folks that bought a home over a decade ago and today their home has devalued, their area has become much worse and their taxes/fees have all but tripled.

And it is true........there are some really nice homes for sale in the city too that are going for cheap!

If I was his campaign mgr I would be POed he was there when he could be out meeting voters who hadn't made their mind up. Going to city hall for a candidate is as smart as taking a cheeseburger to Five Guys. All the votes there are had one way or another. Showing up to grandstand is not gonna' do any good. Roger is smarter than the average state worker or county worker in politics. He can read a budget at him after 9pm and figure it out.

People bought homes in many other cities across the country 10 years ago -- only to find that the prices have devalued.  The problem is not unique to Schenectady.

No problem is unique to Schenectady? Every City has a County employee/City Council President who also is Acting Mayor. Emphasis on Acting. Every City throws its pit bull problem to the US postal service. Every broke City wants to flush $3.3 million on its great municipal golf course. The GE Plot is heavily DEM. The fact that the only morons supporting McCarthy are City employees says it all.

Great response! Of course it's a yawn when you support yet another DEM failure. Like SS Savage.
