Two women facing grand larceny charges

Two women facing grand larceny charges

ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Albany County Sheriff's office has arrested two women they say stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from a home in Slingerlands.

Deputies say Tina Civitello, 18, of Rotterdam, and Meagan Murdza, 22, of Albany, stole more than $6,000 worth of jewelry from an acquaintance.

Civitello and Murdza are accused of then pawning the jewelry off at both Jewels in Rotterdam Square Mall and Regency Jewelers on Altamont Ave in Rotterdam. Deputies say both were arrested and charged with grand larceny.

Civitello and Murdza were arraigned and sent to Albany County jail.
