was the junction made aware? or how about every other place along the canal....the water goes up and the water goes down scenario...AGAIN?
You are aware the river bottom is not perfectly flat .. and is not the same depth the entire length of the river?

yes I am....I was wondering if the leaders did......get it?
The representative of the Canal Corp who provided that information -- was NOT the current director or the previous director or some other political leader-- it was a person who has worked at the Canal Corp for a number of years and whom I presumed was providing me and the commission with good information.
Quite frankly, it doesn't matter NOW how the Onrust got into the river -since we can't undo the past - I am going back to discussing the new Franchere Center, Mabee Farm and other issues involving local history.

Ok, times up. I really didn't think you knew the answer so, The water depth along that part of the shoreline was:
1 foot from shore 6in. 2 feet from shore 8in. 3 feet from shore 1ft. 4 feet from shore 14in. 5 feet from shore (and this is where they started to freak out) 18in. finally 8 feet from shore it dropped to 4ft. they decided they would try and as it turned out they got lucky. they had to move the crane a little closer to the edge of the bank and still it was very ticklish. I give the crane operator a lot of credit 'cause it was pretty windy that day and as you can see from the photos the boat wasn't always parallel to the shoreline. There were a couple of crews manning the ropes also. And there ya go "the facts ma'am just the facts."
Btw I found the info about the draft online. It's really amazing the things you can find online ya know. Just saying...
the Franchere Center is hosting an exhibition of paintings by regional artist, Len Tantillo ... it is a very good representation of his work

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
Tantillo's art captures the historic views of our region and other areas of New York State in such a way that one feels as if he is actually there. He is very conscious of details and that is what brings his art work to life.

Yeah, we know. But you are the expert and we are neophytes on every matter.

Ok, looks like I' m gonna be first here so I'll start off by saying I really am a miserable old geezer myself and I have no friends anymore, because a.) They're either dead (lost 2 last year alone) or: b.) Sitting in a wheel chair stricken by a stroke with as much life as a head of cabbage or: c,) Getting ready to die
but that's not what makes me angry at certain folks here. I accept that as part of life, and only wonder how many more birthdays I'll get to celebrate. Some folks deserve what gets thrown at 'em I call it Karma.
You know the internet is a big place, full of knowledge, some good, some bad, and sometimes you accidentally find things that boggle your mind and you ask yourself why. I know I have on many occasions. Just saying.
Personally I know I go over the top and if it bothers anyone well.............sorry. I'm not gonna stop though....I'll back off every now and then.....but I have too much fun making myself laugh. It's all I've got left......my sense of humor.
Now I can't speak for or defend anyone else here.....we all do what we feel is right.......America ya know.......but if anything that happens here offends or bothers ya you do have the option of ignoring a user. Go to the Member Center look for the User Message Block option and type in the User you wish to ignore in the box and save. It works great, I use it myself........be careful though.......your curiosity may get the best of you and you'll find yourself unblocking just to see what's going on......there's a little voyeur in all of us
And just to be clear.......the admin here does a great job......there's a lot of leeway to say what you want..............I appreciate that........and once again, you don't have to read every post
I guess your right, you do have the right to an opinion...but the continued insults !!! That's my point. You can be an old miserable fart....as you say you are, but why the continued insults. We try to teach our kids to be different NO ciberbullying ( that is what you are doing ) I find your opinions interesting and on point sometimes...lack of respect has no place in this world...hope you raised you children better than that so when they take interest in something they leave the personal attacks of someone with a difference of opinion out of it !
